I have a '78 DS80 and I'm wondering if anyone has converted one of these to the newer CDI type ignition. Aside from the rotor and stator and coil, the only difference I see that might present a problem is the left hand crankshaft part numbers are different, eg. year 2000 lh crank is 12261-46411 and the '78 is 12261-46400. All else in the bottom end is the same, bearings, seals, crank pin, even the woodruff key are the same. My concern is with the difference in the part number, the 2000 rotor might not match up with the old lh crankshaft half?
