pffft, electric start... check valve clearances and timing. pop off the carb. squirt a few cc of fuel down the intake. see if it starts like that with the electric. it doesnt have any silly safety interlocks, ie, the clutch needs to be pulled in when starting? thats narrowed it down...

"dumping oil in engine"..."now mixing" i assume its a two smoker with oil injection? did you block off the oil pump line to the carb? make sure it isnt leaking, cause thats a 2-3mm hole in the side of your carb. but, it definitely sounds like carb issues. ^^^everything he says above^^^^...

explain "got a reproduction and didnt work" a little bit... like...did it run? did you do anything, like try different jets, adjusting needles, or it simply didnt fit? if it doesnt run...do some research into carbs. if YOU do some work, the carb will too... if it doesnt fit, return it, rant...

stuff the biggest engine in that you can find! but me myself have a particular liking for the lifan 125 (1p54) or the 140 with the "start in any gear" clutch... do have to be careful as the bigger engines are slightly longer in the cylinder area, may hit front wheel... or get pretty close...

usually being gutless as soon as it gets some load IS a sign of being lean. try raising the needle all the way, ie, e clip on the bottom notch, that should at least richen it up in the mids/transition. how old/used is it? the carb could be full of shellac from old fuel, or just be gunked...

there shouldnt be a fuse between the starter motor and the battery at all? between the regulator, solenoid, and all low current stuff, sure...but the starter motor can draw a good 50 amps or so. they should be hardwired, with some pretty thick cables, to the battery. solenoid being stuck...

hmmm.... hard to bleed... theres no bleed nipples. mine at least was pretty lousy, the end snapped off when i installed it. someone bored it out just that extra mm or two too much... ie, the slave cylinder's threaded end snapped off. good old quality control :) if its starts leaking halfway...

note that there are spacers between swingarm and frame, AND a spacer between the two sides of the swingarm as well. bit of 1/2" steel pipe cut to required lengths should suffice... its much nicer when they weld these things on, isnt it?
