    CBR250RR build

I'm currently using the PowerPlus paint from supercheap which has turned out pretty good so far. As this is my first road bike I didnt want to invest too much into the paint job as it's likely to get ruined pretty quickly. I gave the paint a bit of feathering, but there was practically no...

    CBR250RR build

    CBR250RR build

there was a bit of bubbling and imperfections that I wasnt happy with since the tank is such a focal point of any bike, especially since its being painted in matte black they will show up very easily. Plus being a steel tank it was a very easy process to remove the paint with a heat gun and...

    CBR250RR build

Started to remove the paint from the tank, all was going well until I found a large dent that had been covered with putty! Not an issue, just means that I have to go and re-putty it! I didn’t get a photo of the dent but I did get a photo with the first layer of putty: I have since layered...

    CBR250RR build

Well all of the parts that I need for the suspension rebuild have arrived, except for my bike stands! I ordered front and rear stands from Torpedo7 3-weeks ago and only the front stand arrived! They have agreed to dispatch a new rear stand asap but it has still put me 3 weeks behind. In the...

    CBR250RR build

There hasn***8217;t been a great deal of progress lately as I have been waiting on parts and tools to arrive. In the meantime I have been slowly getting the bodywork ready for paint. I have also used my homemade manometer to balance the carbs which has made the bike idle and rev much nicer...

    CBR250RR build

Haha yeah I was thinking of hoisting it to the roof, but I decided to get the stand as torpedo7 have them for $50 and the lift makes it far simpler. I also just ordered a bunch of bits from Honda Australia: -Pet**** filter kit -Fork Bush Guide -Fork Bush Slider -A few other fasteners and...

    CBR250RR build

Yeah I have heard that the bottom bolt is a **** to remove, hopefully I will get lucky. Just ordered a head lift stand to make it easier to get the forks off, I will also replace head stem bearings while I'm at it

    CBR250RR build

they arent too bad, if you break it down and look at it like your doing 1 carb 4 times then its fine, just a bit time consuming. I have ordered some new fork seals and am getting some other fork goodies in the next week so ill be able to do a full fork rebuild

    CBR250RR build

Got back from overseas to a box of little goodies I also decided to rebuild the carbs again, the first time I rebuilt them was just a quick job so that i could start diagnosing any other issues. This time I had new seals for each Carb to put in also. All set out in baggies, soaking in...

    Motorcycle tow hitch carriers?

You could reduce the wobble by shimming the hitch so that it fits snugly. There are 4 bolts that can be tightened to stop the hitch moving up/down and rotating but there can still be some side to side movement

    Motorcycle tow hitch carriers?

I use one for my psto and it works great. I had the handlebars hit my window once when unloading but this can be prevented by removing tie-downs on both sides evenly. There is a bit of a wobble when driving but it can be reduced by making sure the load is even and tightened correctly. All in...

    CBR250RR build

The Pirelli's are great tyres for this bike, the sport demons are said to be one of the best all round tyres for it. I will make sure that I put lots of photos up when I get back
  17. S

    CBR250RR build

Yeah the tyres are very old and are high on the priority list but at the moment the current tyres will pass a rwc and that is my main priority so that I can get it registered, then I can ride it down the street to the bike shop to get them changed for some Pirelli's rather than have to rent a...

    CBR250RR build

G'day guys, A few weeks ago I picked up a used Honda cbr250rr mc22 from a member of the cbr forum. He wasn't a mechanically inclined chap so to him the bike looked f***ed. After a quick inspection I quickly snapped it up. Got it home and the main issues are: -engine dying when throttle applied...
