    Lifan 150 diffs and pics

My 150 requires far too much effort to start. As in avoiding kick back, and just getting it to start when cold. It'd be nice to have easier starting and yet keep some of the "over rev" power to avoid a shift or already in 4th. So the Daytona rotor sounds appealing. So, how much $ ??

    Lifan 150 diffs and pics

Likewise the amount of metal in the oil drains worried me a bit. Dare I say it - it now shifts as good as the typical jap MX bike. Fingers also crossed! :) I'd suggest anyone buying one of these Lifan 150 engines to gradually run in the gears, and always kick start it with care. Then a good long...

    Lifan 150 diffs and pics

The Lifan 150 does not need an IRK. It comes stock with a light weight rotor with adjustable ignition timing. I've never adjusted my timing. The engine feels very responsive as is, so I wont touch it. Clutch update: I tried the 4 heavy clutch springs. The Akunar springs are about 150% of the...

    Need some help...

Sounds like your air/fuel mix is out. But I assume it once ran ok with the jetting as is, so have you checked these basics: 1) clean and lightly oiled air filter? 2) New spark plug? 3) Fresh fuel in tank? 4) Looks clean in the bottom of the carb bowl? 5) Fuel flows ok from tank out bottom of...

    Lifan 150 diffs and pics

Thanks again. By memory, that looks pretty damn similar. Next week, I'll have to get mine out and compare. EOM Honda part too. Good price!

    need help

It's not so hard. Approx steps: 0) clean engine outside thoroughly. 1) Tie bars up to your ceiling so front wheel off ground. 2) bash plate off. Exhaust header off. Inlet off. 3) drain oil. Turn off fuel. 4) head covers off. 5) cam sprocket bolts off (9mm) and pop the sprocket off. 6) Left side...

    Lifan 150 diffs and pics

Same - less each time. I also have a magnetic drain plug which catches a lot. I think gear box run is important on these engines. Cactus, thanks for the ebay link. I will do some more researching for now.

I believe you. But the honda TRX125 part is (apparently) not sold in Australia.

    Lifan 150 diffs and pics

Thanks. Who in Aus sells Daytona compatible paper oil filters? - Which will also work in my Lifan 150. My local honda dealer has no code/listing for a TRX125 filter part since "that quad was never sold in Aus". I've been cleaning out the stock steal mesh filter, but would prefer paper...

i want my bike to go faster

I forgot to mention another mod I had to do. 7) Stiffer clutch springs. Also from Akunar. After the eariler mods the engine torque is enough that the clutch can slip a lot if you fan it out and hold the throttle open under heavy rear wheel load. In sand the clutch would slip "forever" if not...

i want my bike to go faster

With simple and cheap mods, I had my Lifan 140 going very nicely (before I cracked the case due to kick starting kickback issues). I never took the cylinder off, or split the case. IE, crank, rod, piston and cylinder were never modified. 1) Alum oil slinger. It'll spin up so much faster. I never...

    Tyres?

You're most probably right. But only because Bridgestone M404+M403 tyres don't come in mini sizes. ;) Honestly, I plan to try a set of MS2s once my Pirelli Scorps are worn out, since I mostly ride in medium, and I LOVE good tyres.

    Tyres?

You told us the brand is MKEK. I just googled it. Bullet proof and puncture proof tyres might be cool, but I'm not convinced that they'd be better for grip and weight than a pair of Pirellis or whatever. What's your web site URL for more info? eg. sizes, weight, terrain types, freight costs etc.

Pit Pro 140 2008 - is it real?

It takes about 3 mins to drop the front wheel off. Take out each spring, put them somewhere clean, then pump the old oil out of each fork. Put about 100ml in each leg for bit of a flush pump out too.

    So I want to buy a 150cc - ????

That advice (buy Jap or Euro) wont help him or any mini owners. Many of us also own a KTM or a Kawi or Suzuki etc (or a few of them) and also own a pitbike (or a few) because they are a bucket load of fun, dirt cheap, and it's fun to work on them and see how good they can go. And they can go...

You mean bullet proof tyres made my the Turkish gov owned military manufacturer? Tell us how much?

    140cc lifan kick start problem

You will have to remove the right side case cover, and your clutch basket and oil slinger and find what is broken. Do that before buying anything. You'll see it. It's not fun, but not too hard either. Cleaning the engine first makes things a lot easier. Sorry if that's stating the obvious. If...

    Tyres?

Assuming you want performance (traction) and not just long lasting, then generally you get what you pay for, and you also should match the tyre terrain rating to what you will ride on, or else get a tyre which is designed to be an all rounder. The China tyres are usually sub standard compared to...

    lifan wont spark

No probs. You're welcome. You might want to keep in mind that an earthing problem can cause CDI failure. So if your next CDI dies, then ... you know what to look for ;)
