The piston seemed fine no scars on the top whatsoever, so finally got it going. Had a bent outlet valve, and cracked valve seals. So just fitted a new head instead of fixing / stuffing around with the old head and valves. It's aliveeeee again after all these months haha

Hey guys thanks for all the replys. At this stage I haven't had much spare time to pull apart the motor. From memory, I beleive it's the yx 140. To pull the clutch in, it feels normal. And as for the timing, I have checked and re-adjusted the valves, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary...

No worries, thanks for the help though..as soon as I get time to get a bit more involved in it I'll be sure to try get some clear pics to post hopefully we can all work it out. The inlet valve was pretty closed I was thinking after resetting that, that it would be right. Not now, it's starting...

When I kick it, everything seems to go through the motion, such as valves, Conrod movement aswell as the magneto/ORK (I think that's what it is?) but just no compression what so ever :( Cheers

Hey yea I popped a skewer down there slightly and had what I beleive to be (the piston) coming up to nudge the skewer. Was a bit hard to see if it was the actual piston though or just the Conrod ? Cheers

Ok just ripped the plug out and had a go at that, but still seems to be no compression what so ever... No pressure coming out of the plug hole at all...

Ok no worries thanks man. Yea checked all the timing etc when I reset the valves. Everything there seems normal. I've put it in the to hard basket until after chrissy. Then I'll rip the top end down again and have a closer look at the piston and rings. They were replaced not to long ago though...

When cranking the motor the valves seem to be moving as normal. Anyone got any other suggestions at all ?

Hmmm ok thanks for that. I couldn't get it to push start although I was in a pretty foul mood and didn't try to much. I'm just about to reset the valves so I'll post back anyway and keep the thread updated on my progress. Cheers

Hey , Just in the middle of checking the valves now. And yep kick starter is moving valves etc. I attempted a push start when I couldn't get it started. But had no luck. So right now I'm doing a full service hopefully this can resolve the issue, by checking timing and resetting valves etc. Cheers

Hmmm ok maybe they had just closed up due to nearing it's service. I might go have a look shortly and post back. I usually run .003 and .005 that should be fine, yea ? Cheers

Hey, Yep! I had given the bike a full service when I done the piston and rings. It's probably only just due for it's next service now..I haven't checked the valves yet however..as I haven't got around to doing the current service etc. Do the valves open right up to lose compression or is it...
