  3. Running cost?
  4. I'm 1,80cm high, app. 85kg (and 30years old!) - would that be an issue?
  5. Where to get the motard wheels and tires from?
  6. Accessories for different bike brands? Best availability?
  7. Aftermarket parts?
  8. Any local dealer for good brands in Brisbane? Bikes and spares!
  9. Tuning? Home tuning and other tuning? Dyno needed?
  10. Budget for a year?
  11. Cost per session?

there is a shop called small wheel deals its located at 11 paizley drive lawnton they sell 50cc to 150cc bikes with lifan engines they are pretty good bikes and they sell motard tyres and aftermarket parts they also have races every second sunday of the month at lakeside and they do races for all bike sizes. i think u can hire gear there and bikes but if you want to buy your own gear u need full leathers and elbow and knee pads . pitpro is also a goood brand for a bit more but they are better there is a shop called mtm not exactly sure where that is but worth checkin out cause they have good gear aswell as good bikes it costs around 20 to race for one day and 100 for a year license wich includes practise riding

a. Biggers better - For some :)

q. Bike brand? Have found DHZ, pitpro, motovent(prizy) , MSO!
a. Any - just set it up to suit you

q. Running cost?
a. 3bucks per sunday for fuel + parts

q. I'm 1,80cm high - would that be an issue?
a. No

q. Where to get the motard wheels and tires from?
a. DHZ are a cheap start

q. Accessories for different bike brands? Best availability?
a. all accessories are fairly easy to get.

q. Aftermarket parts?
a. Heaps let google be your guide :)

q. Any local dealer for good brands in Brisbane? Bikes and spares!
a. Heaps of china bike shops around are they good, tough to say :) I do most of my shoping in forums & ebay

q. Tuning? Home tuning and other tuning? Dyno needed?
a. Tuning by the seat of your pants is fun & frustrating at the same time. Dynos are expensive but rewarding :)

q. Budget for a year?
a. Racing or just having a chop?

q. Cost per session?
a. Archerfield $20 for practice I don't race but I think it's like $30 per day

q. Safety gear? Have all leather for top part - kevlar jeans and MTB kneed pads okay for bottom part?
a. As some say 'Bitchy Hurts' Full leathers are perfect, but I just use MX pants, skate kneepads, my old road bike leather jacket, GOOD gloves, Skidlid and 50/50 boots.

Thanks for the replies! I'll give MSO a call tomorrow. Seems they have a top $ reputation and service.

welcome mate, I race big motard and have a mini to. Good fun and real cheap. I have an MSO and when u get one let me know so I can help you with some set up tips.

it's very cheap to ride these bikes. Not sure about racing them. Maybe I will find out next year. Get the 140.

Hi Mate
Just talked to Linda from MSO, very freindly. They will be able to find a pro or an Elite I I want one :D
She actually mentioned you if I needed any help with setup for motard! She don't have the motard rims in stock so where should I get them from - DHZ maybe? Is there any other parts/upgrades I should get now that I'm shopping??

DHZ should be able to get rims or other ebayer. u want 2 x 12inch x 2.15inch wide. Get Dunlop TT92 100 front and 120 rear. If u get the narrow front tyre you should not have any issues with tyre fitting between the forks. U can get slightly bigger spacers to solve this issue anyways.

I am in the process of upgrading my brakes to a 2 pot front caliper. Once i have it finished I will let you know the outcome. I think it will be pretty good and when the caliper adaptor is made i am sure it will be easy to get one copied for your MSO.

I would get a 14 tooth front sprocket also and some bark busters.

- The Dunlops, do you buy them from overseas or local?
- How much bigger disk do I need for the front?
- Is upgrading the front calliper a must? If so, any brand that is better?
- Front fork, new and better oil?
- Drop the front to 14T - but will the chain not scrape on the chain guard all the time because of the smaller radius? Bigger rear sprocket may be better!
- Carby upgrade - good idea? Any brand or model?
- Bark buster - will bark busters from big bikes fit?

Thinks that was the questions for now...Oh- any idea when they will practice/race on Archefield or Lakeside again?

A. i got mine from Two Wheel Tyres at Blacksoil but i'd say any bike shop can order them in ..

- How much bigger disk do I need for the front?
A. Not so much bigger but using 100% of the brake pads

A. If your doesn't stop you fast enough you need better -they are all china but there are setups that do work better than others, come to the track and look at what we run and get a good idea on yours.

- Front fork, new and better oil?
A. Never really noticed a difference in oil only amount. AS02's work really well for a reasonable price.

A. 14t front 37 rear works well for archerfield. Altho 16/41 is a close match too. I run 15/37

- Carby upgrade - good idea? Any brand or model?
A. I noticed really good imporvements with DHZ's 'real' Mikuni 24mm was running a '26mm Mikuni' 26mm OKO's have proven good too altho i've never run one.

- Bark buster - will bark busters from big bikes fit?
Some run them some dont, some fit some don't. Again come to the track and see our setups.

A. This saturday they are open i think.

Cool, cool and cool! Thanks a lot for helping me out with all my questions! On Saturday(03/01-09) is it Archerfield or Lakeside they are at? And at what time are they there? Is there anyone I could PM to get this information from?

I have been misssing in action for awhile (moved house) so haven't been on line but it seems others have answerd your questions well. all I can add is another vote for the value of the dunlop tyres they are great grip for the money they cost. We use 26mm oko carbs and I think they are also gr8 value on a 140cc bike. I have 1 24mm oko that is not good on anything it has a diferent fuel circit to the 26mm and I belive this is the reason it isn't good. I also have a 28mm oko and this works on a 140cc but is only good at top revs and is to boggy down low (could be good on a 150 or 160cc bike).
I am not sure when we have our first track day back at lakeside but I should find out tomorow and will post a thread here as soon as I find out.

Thanks for the reply. All info is helpful. In regards to bike! I have had my eyes on a MSO Pro Pit 140cc but came across this DHZ D-PRO 160R manly because of the bigger engine and the looks! However I've heard that MSO is top quality and not to sure about the DHZ? The bike will be used 80-90% motard but will hit the woods now and then! Would one bike need more modifications to the other in order to race motard?

Thats a hard call, one of our bikes is a mso elite and it is a awsome bike very agile and the quality and service from ken and linda is amasing. I personaly dont have much experience with the dhz bikes but if it has the gpx 160 in it then I know that those motors definatly have potential to be very fast. I think it would probably come down to what you want from the bike mostly because I think most tracks arn't racing 160cc's yet (although we will be at lakeside this year). So what I would do is get out to the tracks when there is track days on and talk to people and gather info.
