138cc / 125cc

now, these 138cc seem to have a longer frame compared to the 125cc. would there be any difference in handling and weight over the 125cc?

and does a oil cooler add more performance to the engine, or just keepz the oil cool?

Sounds interesting, I never noticed longer frames in pictures. Perhaps the wheelbases of the 138 should follow to be longer too?

Anyhow, generally with a longer frame (and subsequent longer wheelbase), I'd expect stability at higher speeds to be better. Now for maneuvering at lower speeds, I tend to think a shorter frame/wheelbase would be better. I speak of these based on my knoweldge about 4-wheeled vehicles. Suppose it'd follow on 2 wheels? Can anyone confirm on enlighten please.. lack of 2-wheel experience on my side.

As for an oil cooler, my personal usage of the bike for short trips does not need an oil cooler (I use mine merely to go from corner to corner along the escape road of a race circuit for observation/photography). But for guys who do prolonged, heavy usage (i.e. afternoons fun with the guys), an oil cooler would do its job and would be good to have.

Having an oil cooler will bring no performance gains on the engine at all. But by keeping the oil maintained at a proper operating temeperature, the engine is spared from unruly effects of oil breakdown, thus prolonged engine life.

These 138cc typhoon bikes from the people who sell the monsoon named bikes has a different(better) frame with the same setup and dose not look out of proportion.

Nah I wouldnt get that one its got no oil cooler, doesnt start in gear, no braided brake lines and shittier tyres. Only thing slighty better in looks is bbr style exhaust

I'll think you will find all the standard 138cc Lifan motors will start in any gear as thay are based on a 120 lifan monster which has clutch on main shaft not on crank thus allowing you to start in any gear.Just check with him i think the138's have all up shift drum as well ,mine does.The frame has provision for oil cooler just need cooler and adapter plate (pretty cheap these days).As for oil cooler i would recommend them on all pit bikes especially big bore 138cc, these motors(all) are very hard on oil as there is not very much of it .Long frames rule so much better to ride all round.

I've seen a few people mention this clutch and 4up gearbox, is this any stronger or just different?. Are ther any advantages?.
