Hey guys im new to the site and was lookin for some help with my old school 74 xl70.
I Cant get spark past the coil. There is a single black wire coming off the coil and pluges into a smaller black wire that is from the main harness. The test light showed power all the way up to the coil. So i replaced the coil and plug just to be safe. Keep in mind i have no battery and the bike has a turn key ignition that is not hooked up. The back of the ignition where the wires are supposed to be hooked up is broke off. There are six wires that looked like they plugged into the igniton. R/w, R, Y,Blk, B/r, B will that ignition not being hooked up and in the ON position mess with the coil not sending spark when i bump start it or kick it over? Is there a way to run the wires to an on /off switch or hook them up so it thinks its on all the time? Im really trying to figure this out so my Wife and little bro can learn how to ride a motorcyclye that they dont have to be afraid to drop. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY GREATLY APPRICIATED!!!!!

points ignition!! shouldnt be too hard to hot wire..

should be able to wire it up like an early z50r engine... pretty sure the coil connects directly to the points/condenser wire...
splice into that wire to attach a kill switch..
