My little man's (6yo)been on the CRF50 for about 8 weeks now and loves it. Still too small to kick it over every time and I've got to put it in second for him. The problem I'm having is that with the front brake on when i put it into first the thing nearly rips outta my hands!!! I've rolled off the throttle while i'm changing up but man does it kick like a mule. Anyone got any thoughts on how i can soften this up a bit so i can start training the little fella to put it in gear himselve without flipping it?

Never heard of that before. They are mellow as all hell in stock form.

Only thing I could think of is that the idle is set really high??

maybe try titanium weights in the clutch, that way it will need more revs before it fully engades.

also is your chain mega tight?

i would do adjust the auto clutch first, watch that video it explains very well

Awesome Sagone thanks man, will let you know how i go. Will check the chain and the idle as well.

Adjusting the clutch worked a treat thanks guys. Wow, he can actually put it into gear himself now. Once the mikuni carbi turns up there'll be no stopping him. Thanks again folks.
