Hi guys this is my little Honda QR50 that i picked up from the rear neighbours after it got left against the fence after having kickstart probs, it started 3rd kick with a heap of compression but missing the exhaust, have been looking for a 2nd hand one but no luck, may have to go into honda and bite the bullet

sure did carlts, couldnt believe it, whisked it straight off to work and did some bits and pieces to it when i could, the kickstart was jammed as the 2nd tooth on the kickstart spindle was broken off so i cut a tooth off of a lifan 140 1st gear and had it welded on and then die grinded to a tea of the other teeth, bars were broken and had a set of py50 bars so they went on, still a work in progress am going to mod a py50 exhaust if i dont like the price for a genuine exhaust, a perfect starter for my nieces and nephews being an auto, just hope they enjoy in when time comes.

Hi guys, I need help with getting all the crap off the plastics of the QR, the picture shows the plastics quite good(silicone spray) but you can see were the rear number plate was on the side is nice but the rest is faded, when the spray wears off it becomes nearly white from weathering, ive heard you can sand this back with some 1200 grit sandpaper and it will look like new kinda, has anyone attempted this or is there another way to tackle it.

Start with 600 grit (or 400 for real bad parts) & soapy water, 1200 is usually too fine to do anything, You can finish off after 600 with some polish cream and it will be shiny then, The plastics will come up better, Nice find mate

You know nearly all the parts are still available, You could have bought genuine parts for the kick start setup instead of fixing it the rough way>

This is just an example, Honda still carries lots of part for older bikes, Shopping in the USA is much much cheaper too
