hey guys

been a while since i been here, last time i was on i was researching for a pit bike and ended up with a pit pro 140.
awesome bike was really happy with it and its still going strong today, still on the original plug and starts first or second kick everytime.
anyways im looking at getting the mrs set up on a 250 just so she can get out there with me and im after opinions on what brands are the go at the moment.
budgeting about 1k-1300,im leaning towards a pit pro but have heard the orions have picked up there game alot,is this right?
any other info advice is much appreciated

thanks

andy:)

motovert 250
atomik blitz

haven't heard aboutthe orion but it couldn't be that good..

motovert 250
atomik blitz
yep they're meant to be the best, say away from that pitpro POS

wish the budget stretched far enough for a motovert.
the kdx is being sold to fund the mrs bike and a few mods for the pitty lol
any particular reason that the pit pros are to be avoided?

the pitpro 250 is just a poorly designed POS, and you'll probably get the blitz cheaper anyway

tyvm bulldog that will keep me busy reading for a few hours

haha.. good read though, the "Going to try hummer G4" is the longest 80 pages nearly..

g4 thread possibly has the BEST information regarding 250cc china bikes to. BIG well done to Rodbox for that one! That guy is THE God of 250 chinas!

lol i have read that one b4 and i got like 12 pages in and couldnt read anymore lol

^^ missed out on some of the best information available then :D

ok so what is the better of the bikes the fury, kuda pro or the blitz.
the kuda and fury come with lights etc and a digi dash but one is air cooled and the fury is water cooled where as the more expensive(not by much)blitz does not have lights or a dash but is water cooled.
specs are almost identical.

i have seen a 2 atomiks at broadmedows and they ran good but i saw a pitpro and the guys that were riding it were not even half the track and the chain fellof and before that they were doing stuff on it for a long time and i also saw a puzey and the guy stuff the rear spring but i don,t no about the motovert it looks cool but the crusty demon liked it

Well, ive have an 09 Orion 250, Never had any real problems with it that i havent caused lol.
had it for 6 or 7 months now, It always gets thrashed by me and my mates, its been through quite a few creek crossings, loads of swampy mud and plenty of other ****. And so far all ive done is broken a couple leavers and bent the handle bars, Other then that shes been all good, All ya needa do is locktight everything when you get it and yeah all set.. One thing that might be a problem for ya missus, if shes a petite girl, it might be a bit big/heavy, however i dont think it would be any heavier then any other chineese 250.
Only real problem ive had is my Shockie is blown...but that was because it dropped off the back of me truck lol..anyways thats another story.

Id reccommend just saving a bit more $$ and getting a jap bike, But if you really cant afford it, Id go the Orion over any other Chinese 250.

Just my 2cents :)

unless your missus is 5'10" or taller, i'd steer away from the Atomik Blitz... seat height is just under a metre, and they're pretty heavy for a 2fiddy...
if she wants something basic, where is doesnt matter if she rides it three times and decides it's not for her, then go for something like an X-moto 250 with 19/16 wheels, particularly if she's on the short side.. there are probably a few people who'll disagree with recommending an Xmoto, but for the price (around $950) they are quite capable as a complete beginners bike. the gen 2 motors in them actually pull a bit harder than the gen 3 liquid cooled motor in the blitz as well..
we've got two Xmotos in our stable, the 19/16 and the 21/18.... both have so far been bulletproof, no reliability issues, and have been thrown at the ground a few times by the missus..
if you want something cheap, that isnt going to scare her with weight or height, i'd go the xmoto with 19/16 wheels option...

thanks guys
well i suggested to her about the 19/16 but no she wants the full size one.
she liked the atomik fury i think it was but still she has not sat on one yet to see bout the size/weight.
the xmotos did look good the xb 3 something,is that them looked at so many diff sites they all look the same after a while lol.
for what she needs it for there is no need to buy a jap bike imo,yes they ar better in everyway but she wont have to worry bout spending a fortune if she does stack.
ty guys

I have both the atomik proX 250 and tommahawk 250, i have jumped on a blitz 250 and the Kuda Pro. All of them are very similar.

Very heavy, **** brakes and poor front forks. No noticeable difference between the air cooled or the water cooled, although i would reccomend getting something that can be rec regoed(anything with lights).

I also the larger wheel option is the way to go IMO, when it comes to ruts and gutters it just makes life easier.

I have had my fair share of teething problems with all chinese bikes but once you get the kinks out they seem to run just fine.

They are all pretty similar, go whatever is cheapest, locktight everything, change all fluids, put on new handle bars, new chain and when ever you go for a ride take a adjustable spanner and zipties and you should have plenty of entertainment.
