hey all just bought my first pit bike, i did as much research as possible
and though this would be the best bike for the value!!! i have been involved in dirt bikes most my life but got out of it about year and a half ago cos i perchest my first place. i started getting the itch back so i started lookin at pittys 4 some fun an something different.

have i made the right choice with the X4R?

anyone know of any places down south way to ride?

Ppl are gonna try tell u u should of got a linkage bike! But after watching some races it makes no difference its all about the rider! I personally think they feel more solid (not saying they are but it feels it for me)

yerp nicko is so right... one of nsw best pitbikers rides a x4r and wins most races

i also have an x4r good bike but make sure you keep the maintenance especially if your racing or riding or hard or you will find out the hard way and break things ect

one thing you will want to upgrade is your rear wheel at least as the hubs arent that strong and also the bolts for the sprocket are like the wrong size so you may want to try and source bolts and fix it or just upgrade your wheel whenever you can... my hub shattered on the sprocket side and i have heard of a few doing this now

good luck with it and enjoy :)

Yea I would be keen to go riding some time soon boys. I do know a few spots that some people may not know about plus my auntie has a property at mclaren vale

It must be them steel sprockets that are going around causing this problem , the holes are just to big in them , because your hubs are a diff pattern to mine , and your kind of hubs have been around for ages and no problems with the ones ive had of them .

Should get a new sprocket pbk as there should be heeps around for that bolt pattern

i dont think its the sprocket that is the problem because that sprocket that came on the x4r stock fits on my bilet hubs no problems... but yes lxr do run different hubs but wether the bolt pattern is the same or not as the x4r its hard to tell cos i dont have to compare.. but i wouldnt say its a real big problem and even if i knew the problem exisited in the first place i would still of purchased the x4r

and yes i do have an elka shock and its 10 times as good as the dnm its amazing i just need to do a fork oil change my suspenion would be sweet as

Yer there definitely different pattern , well from the picture of the broken hub you posted somewhere? easy to tell because the lxr hubs have a tiny spacing .

What bolts did you use with the new hubs? if you used the same bolts/sprockets and it doesn't have a problem thats weird lol

i used the botls that it came with... im not sure wether they would fit the broken hub... i dont think there is anywhere that the bolts could go anymore haha

and yer the sprocket from broken hub to new one is fine

lol , well if you got time , and still have the old bolts see if there the same size . because the hub in the picture you put up looks exactly the same as the bse type ones that are on a heep of bikes , so would be strange if they put a different size bolt but kept the same size sprocket holes..

sorry about the thread jackn lol

Good choice with the X4r :grinning-smiley-003
