Aidan's 2011 CRF50

Hey guys and gals,

Sitting in bed bored, so thought I might start a little build thread up .
I used to be on this forum about 6 years ago when I had a china pitpro rubbish thing haha,

So I lost my car licence the other week, so I sold my little daily car and decided to go buy a crf50 to keep me sane over the next 3 months.

Picked up a 2011 crf50 on Thursday,
Complete stocka except some pro taper bars for a good price,




(Mates atomik in the BG which I was fixing)



Took it out to my mates property this weekend,
Bike went well all Friday and Saturday besides getting a flat tyer late Saturday arvo

Only thing I found was the protaper bars are not 50 ones, so will have to swap them out for the right ones so my knees stop getting bashed,

And the suspension could hold up for my size( I'm 22 years old and weigh 76kg)

Woke up Sunday and found a spare tube in the garage,


Also found a person selling some parts on Facebook and snatched them up for a good price,

Parts I got were:
Two brothers racing HD front fork kit
FAST50's rev box
BBR gear selector
Extended rear brake leaver

Picked it all up for $200 so seemed pretty good in my eyes?

Here's some pics of parts, and how the bike sits now after the first weekend of riding and playing with it

And yeah more plans coming in following weeks,

Got a bash plate at home ready to go on,

Looking to do,

-rear shock (any recommendations?)

-change the bars to proper crf pro taper high rise kit with the clamp and grips etc, ( ones on ATM are off an 88 or something)

-tall seat with fiveo grip cover

-paint the frame black, (may strengthen just to be safe whilst doing this if I can get my dad out on the welder for me)

-different front tyer as rear is already changed but front is still original.

-exhaust ( looking at a yoshi or BBR)

That should do me for plenty of fun,
Few bling bits maybe, (engine dress up, new plastics and new Honda sicker kit etc)

Rear shock = Fox Float !!

Don't want anything big, just to level the back back out with the new front

If you can afford it, fox float seems to be what most blokes run on the 50s, but you could at a pinch use the fast ace shock, my 11 yr olds bike is running one and that handles my weight on jumps pretty well. Should be a sweet little 50 when your done

Yeah I asked on a fb page and a lot of people said fastace, good quality for a cheap price and will do the job for what I want, not gonna be hitting anything stupid big or anything so I think I'll be going fastace

Decided to pull the bike down and paint the frame and swing arm and forks
