Hey guys

I want to buy an air compressor for the shed and there is one at super cheap auto that I'm lookin at. If you go to the super cheap site look on the online mag and it's in there. It is about $100 and it comes with some free fittings.

NOW. It is 2hp (is this enough?) and does it use oil. If so, what type of oil?

Is it worth getting?

cheers

It would be fine for pumping up tyres and doing little things here and there nothing big like spraying a car.

I have one of those 2hp compressors for supa cheap. as motoluver said, it has the capacity to pump up tyres, blow the dirt off things (carby's)and run a few small tools.
But if you wanna spray a car don't bother, it will do it but unless you get a $500 spray gun that doesn't continually have air blowing through it, the motor will keep going to fill the small tank and could over heat.
But it can do it, my mate done it with mine, as he used a low pressure gun. and didn't mind the noise of the motor running every 5 mins
For $100 you can't go wrong, it is a handy thing to have lying around. Just don't expect it to do the big jobs.
p.s it is 3 years old and still goes strong, and it takes oil

yeah i wasnt planning painting anything just pumping tyres, cleaning carbys etc.

ive had mine for 2 years now, (2hp direct drive)

ive painted

boat trailer
bike trailer
6x4 trailer x 3
20x30 shed
30 metres of tin fence
rainwater tank

pumped countless amount of tires, cleaned god knows how many carbys, degreased my speedboat engine (with sprayer attachment) every 3 months,

its been great, never let me down once, and for $110 its a bargain,

sure a bigger tank for painting is best, but its not impossible if you know how to do it,

but your not painting so that wont bother you,

grab one:D

I have to buy that attatchment tho that is like a gun and it just shoots out air.

Ohhh I work at Lonsdale Auto Wreckers and I dissmantle stuff. It's an awesome first job man.
