Alexwarehouse 5 speed

Alexwarehouse has a 5 speed listed for some Lifans.

NOW $29 and you and can buy ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately they want a "Low Order Fee" of $100. Even on 4 units it is still added on.

They say shipping is USPS (4-8 days) $62 for 4 units.

Does anybody know anything about this and what it fits?

Does anyone know if they shift right and don't break, and what they really fit?

yeah i seen this a while back, there is a thread on planet minis about it also..

dont think anyone has reported using one yet.. maybe there a bit sus on if the description is correct because if you look thru the rest of the site they have the names and descriptions wrong on a lot of items..

You reckon you'd use a 5th gear *****?

The only thing id be worried about for starters is are you ever going to get into 5th gear on a track?
And does the engine have enough power to pull it through 5th? because for all we know you could change to 5th and it will just die and stall

But you'd think it would have heaps to get it in 5th but is it gunna make any difference like really
it's only going to give you a tad more speed and the full mod 125-160-184's will still pass you like your standing still so yeah i don't know

I recon i could use a 5th gear you would gear the bike to suit it so that you use 5th gear. but to me it would mean i have more gears to play with.

and with a 20hp motor with v2, high comp and s35 that revs off its head i recon it would have no problem powering through a 5th gear.

or if i didnt use it in my motard, i would put it in my trail pitty it would be good to not always be screaming if you had a 5th gear you could sit on a decent speed at a good rpm depending on ratios.

I really don't see the point why waste money on a 5 gear shift drum and all those performance parts when you can get a 4 speed gpx,takegawa and daytona engine that will kill it?

that's only my opinion yes it's a smart idea having a 5 speed but the only thing i see it's good for is motarding but then again you can always get another engine that will still kill it

well i mainly do motard so thats why im mainly thinking about it. and for the price of the 5 speed why not try it? it costs **** all.

And i would be retro fitting it into a z160 not a lifan so it would be a good combo think about it

I really don't think you'd use 5th on a motard. I agree with ya sam about riding trails but for motard and mx i think it'd be a waste of time and $$

hate to burst yr bubble sam but read the description of the gear set... to suit lifan 110/125 etc..
wouldnt even fit a lifan 150 as im pretty sure the output shaft is different on the kicker bearing end.

and being for lifan means the sprocket end of the output shaft doesnt suit yx/zonger...(lifan=large shaft sprockets) and also in yx they use a different size kicker end like the 150 lifan..

so what are they good for!!!!!! not much at all.. first gear in most engines is already rendered useless so upping the front sprocket size to be able to use 1st properly means the top end struggles with no torque...

only way it would work is if the chinese really did there home work and made the ratio's close, but hey its chinese so thats just a dream...


one other thing that comes to mind... no mention of 5 forward gears lol... the extra gear may be a reverse...

If they developed it you would think they knew for certain which motors it can be fitted to.

Careful of Alex warehouse i sent off a big order to them and never received it, after saying i would get it within the week.

I did get the money back after a couple of months.

The point of a 5 speed is to have closer ration. We went to 4 speeds because the 3 speeds are so wide apart. We need closer ratios.

I would expect it to fit most crank mounted clutch models.

well i gather you have been talking with them!! any chance they gave you the ratio's of the gear-set?

I tried to ask them if they would sell less than 20 (that was their minimum then) 3 months ago, and they did not return my Email.
