i have a apollo 110 cc pit bike and it will start up but wont stay running unless u are constantly twisting the throttle to keep the rpm up. any ideas. i check the spark plug and coil both are good. could bad gas be the cause of it?

need to be more descriptive.. does it run like crap when your twisting the throttle?
or do you just need to turn up the idle speed

welcome to Miniriders,

it could just be the idle speed is too low ?
turn the screw (with the spring under it) in that lines up with the centre slide
this raises the idle speed.

otherwise it may have a blocked pilot jet ?
which will require you to remove the carby,
then the fuel bowl and clean the carby out thoroughly with carby cleaner and compressed air.

naw like it sounds good when its being reved but as soon as i get off the throttle it dies.

turn the idle screw up it will be on the side of your carby (dont know what side you have not specified what carby it is) but it will aim up a little bit towards the center of the carby as because it holds the slide open

i tried turning the screw up i took the carb apart and cleaned it. still wont idle. runs good when ur like rev or driving but its hard to ride cuz it wants to stall everytime u left off the gas.

is this the carby style you have on it ?

if so, pull the pilot jet out,(one on the left of centre, has been removed in pic below) and check that the tiny holes are all clear, through the centre and across the sides.
then where the jet screws into, you should be able to see into the main bore of the carby too. (see pic below)
if this hole is blocked, then the bike wont want to start easily, wont want to rev, or wont want to idle.

in the top picture above this post,
the idle mixture screw, to the left of centre, should be set at approx 1.5 - 2 turns out, from being screwed right in.
