atomik 50 tacho problem

put a 52mm tacho on mi atomik 50 today, same tacho as DVDrip has on his. well it works but only when i hold the green wire with my finger on the coil. what is the problem?

i have spent over $100 on tachos and all have the same problem

please i need help ASAP!!!!

Hey Mate, Can you please post some photos of it and the wiring etc that would be great. I have purchased a digital tacho/hour meter and have wired it up but havnt used it yet...Although mine is a lot easier im guessing its just got a wire to the spark plug cable and to the earth as well...

yes will do tonight, the wiring is as following....

RED; to positive side of battery
BLACK; to negative side of battery
ORANGE; to positive side of battery
GREEN; to negative side of coil

I have tried already. I am goin down to auto barn to get a 12v regulator and wire it on to that. Does any one have any tips. And sorry for not uploding photos yet. Been busy
