Hey guys, I'm relatively new to modifying mini bikes, so bear with me. I just got a 212cc Baja Heat, and was looking into modifications. Would I run into any problems running a torque converter and lengthening the gears for better top end? I mainly only use mine for road riding. The governer has been bypassed but that's about it.

Welcome to Minirder's,

First up drop in here and Introduce Yourself, and post up a pic of your bike if you can.

We've had a couple of people asking about the torque convertor conversion's on the Baja's over the last 6 month's
It seem's to be the done thing with the Baja bike's, they give the bike a bit more top end speed, about 75 km/h
There are a few other mod's you can do to them too including fitting a Honda Flat top piston, stronger billet conrod, lightened flywheel, an advance key for the flywheel, bigger camshaft, bigger bore exhaust etc.
I have even heard of people fitting a GX200 head to get more compression and fitting bigger stainless valve's

The only issue i've heard about is the bolt that hold's the pulley to the crank is a bit short.
You could buy a longer high tensile bolt for it and use that, also use some Loctite on the thread's to stop it coming loose.

They look like a fun little machine.
