I've got 2 boys, one is gonna be 7 in Aug and the other is 6. Both are 60lbs.
These pit bikes are new to me. I've got a couple of go-peds and some Jet-Skiis. I've looked at the Orion 50cc bikes for around $500.00.
I understand you get what ya pay for. Having to buy 2 saving some money seems OK to me. Are they a good brand? I've read about the ducar and the zongshen engines which from what I've read are the better of the Chinese engines.
Are these any good for a first starter bike(pedal bikes are all they've ridden)? I'm sure they will grow out of whatever I get pretty quick.
I'm in the auto industry and making adjustments, repairing, re-torquing ect every time you go riding is'nt a big deal for me. I know I'm in the U.S. but you guys seem to have the best forum for these. I've seen some things like solder all connections ect. Just looking for something for good starter bike for a couple of boys.
Any help will be appriciated.
Thanks
Wendell

Depends how much you've got to spend.. If you've got alot get 2 crf50's

I was hoping not to drop that kind of cash until they've learned to ride, I know they will grow out of whatever I get them pretty quick. Once they learn to ride and grow some more the Honda is the way I'll be going. But for $1000.00 I can get 2 of the Orions instead of one of the Hondas. I sure they will be breaking and crashing alot, well at least I did when I was that age.
I would like to spend about $1000.00 for 2. I do know you get what you pay for. I Just keep reading about the cheap Chinese bikes, was looking for the best engine, parts (quality wise).
Thanks
Wendell

for 500 the orions are okay, but yeh japanese bikes are much better and much more reliable.
the engines that are the best quality for chinese would probably be:
zongshen, ducar, lifan, loncin are okay. avoid all engines that don't have any brand or writing on them, they are usually very crappy and poorly made engines that break.

Well he obviously doesn't want to spend all that money on a real bike so stop buggin him :p Umm, just look around mate most 50's won't last very long.. So i wouldn't get your hopes up lol.. Unless its a real bike.. But im sure an orion 50 will last long enough for your kids to get the hang of riding.

yeah a couple of orion 50s should be a good bike for your kids to learn on an you said your in the auto industy so im sure if you keep them maintained an do the usual loctite bolts an so on they will last until your kids grow out of them
im not sure what pitty's you can get there but if you get the pitpro 50cc there you should also think about that cause they hold up pretty good too

There used to be a KTM 50 replica called KDM which was such a close copy all parts from a KTM could fit on it... I can't find it now though maybe KTM took legal action or something.

Thanks for all the info I really appriciate it. I will keep ya posted, we should get them in July. I'm gonna go with the Orions.
Thanks again
Wendell

Ben, You cant stay they dont last long without actually owning one, Me on the other hand have owned a Atomik 50cc aka orion 50cc, They are a great little bike and with some new tyres, high tensile bolts its a fantastic little bike.
