There is no substitute for cubic capacity so the 140 would be the go. Also my mate has one and it sh_ts on my 125 and I doubt that I could mod mine cheaply to compete against his.

i was lookin at the 140's 2, but yeh, u can't even see if its a lifan, definately looks like 1 tho!

doesn't a 140 fit in a regular engine mount for a 125 ducar??

If you have a 125 lifan I am pretty sure that the 140 is a bolt up fit (where do you think you need to grind/modify?). You will need to mount the oil cooler though. You will need to tune your carby and this may involve changing the main jet and possible the pilot jet. New jets only cost about $10 each so not big $$$$. In saying that nearly all of the cheaper bikes have the wrong size jets so if you have your 125 tuned right it will probably be right for the 140. (I had to go up 4 sizes with my main jet on a stock engine from how it came on a brand new bike to get it running well)

Buy a 140 ~ far superior value for the $$$$$$$$ - those "125's" are really only 119.7 cc (52.4 x 55.5 stroke) and they don't have oil cooler fittings on the cases OR come with an oil cooler and lines ! How do I know ???? I bought one off the same guy for $375 + postage hoping it had a 57 mm crank ! I pulled it down and measured the bore and stroke as soon as it got here and was pissed clean off when I found out that it wasn't a 125 !

I did email the guy for bore x stroke specs before bidding but received NO reply !

They're STILL a good motor tho' and the price has dropped a lot since the 140's hit the scene !

yeh. but i got to grind my engine mount to make the 140 fit:(

You're going to have to do the same with any MAINSHAFT clutch motor because the clutch levers are in the exact same position ! That "125" is the exact same dimensions as the 140 - they're both genuine Lifan engines and are delivered in Lifan boxes and have a Lifan factory inspection certificate with them !

I have a "138" Lifan motor that has the big valve head and large finned alloy cylinder still brand new and never started sitting in the bike ! It has the clutch on the crank and will fit ANY frame ! It looks exactly the same as the Super 125 and 138's only it has the different clutch ! I'm thinking of selling it because I already have a Super "125" (120cc) plus a genuine 140 .

kool. do i need a longer clucth cable cause my ducar the motor thats in it now is a non start in any gear. also if a grind a bit off teh engine mount its not goin to make it weak and snap is it?

You'll most likely need a longer clutch cable if you fit a kick in gear motor into your type of bike . I wouldn't touch the mount bracket on the frame with a grinder unless you are skilled at fabricating and know how to alter things without weakening them . The levers clear the mounts on the engine itself so IF the mounts are spaced wider on your bikes frame , the answer is to move them inwards to suit the motor - then reweld them . Also , use a high tensile engine mount bolt with a flat allen head on the clutch end . I read a thread on here where some guy just bent his lever up to clear but doing things like that is a bit bodgy !

yeh thanks ay. my bike is a atomik prox the bigger frame and i need to grind the engine mount abit and put a allen key head and flat n that out abit.

i bout the 140cc engine of dhz, its a true lifan, 140cc not 138cc. definatelty worth the $350, its a good idea to fit the oil cooler as this will prolong the life of the engine.

very very very happy with the engine, has a lot of go in it and a 125 simply would not compete with it.

you will also need a longer cable, i went to the motorbike shop in my town and bought a universal cable, took the cable out the one i just bought and placed it in my old one as I could have two adjusters on the cable instead of one, the cable are very cheap.

if u dont put the oil cooler on sell it to meeeee XD

Unless you have a Lifan that is factory fitted with a oil cooler this wont fit your bike without buying an adaptor (the lsat time I looked for a addaptor it was cheaper to buy a oil cooler kit with an adaptor than to buy an adaptor by itself).

Either way to run the 140cc without the oil cooler causes two other problems
1. you need to make up a bypass to link the inlet and outlet ports on the engine case.
2. early death of the 140. (it comes with a oil cooler because it needs it)

Sorting out a mount for the oil cooller shouldnt cause too many problems.

ok ok ok... oilcooler will be on:D but can i buy a HYDRAULIC CLUTCH kit and then i dont need to grind alil off the engiine mount?
