hey guys, my dhz140 dpro is running really crap! first, it blows blue smoke and uses a bit of oil, this doesn't worry me, unless it is related to my next issue. when i start it it idles fine, but i go to give it a rev and it just dies and splutters and carry on. this happens both stationary and when being ridden. i searched around here and tried a few things, i cleaned the carby, didn't work. adjusted the valves. i pulled it down and the piston, rings and cylinder look ok. i did notice though, that the cam chain looked like it wasn't as tensioned very much, and could have skipped a tooth.

anyone have ay idea what my issue may be?
Cheers, Baldwin

sounds like timing is out, have you checked what colour the spark plug is?
i just broke my cam chain gear on my bike racing on the weekend and wasn't starting to well before that and blowing smoke sometimes
did you check your jets in the carby? and blew them out?

with it all back together again and the cam sprocket cover off is the cam chain loose, the cam chain should be tensioned and tight and not able to really freely move, if so maybe the chain tensioner rubber is damaged or broken away, its on top of the tensioner rod and is the only week spot on it, this could cause your chain to jump a tooth or 2.

i just compared the timing marks to the same one on my 140 outlaw, and before looking at the outlaw my timing didnt look to be out, but after comparing it, it is definately out! lol. but i cant get the flywheel off the check the rubber.
