Does anybody use or own this type of bike stand? Lifting the bike is obvious but can anyone give info on how the bike is brought down?

Also, how is the locking mechanism on this stand?

Lastly, are there any other bike stand designs that could be better? Preferably one that you wont have to lift the bike like those stool type stands.

yeah i've got one, lifts the bike up heaps good to work with, i will take some pics 2mozz for you u if u want.

Simple and effective...

Unless you want a stool design but than you have to lift...

I think most use this design and they will range from $50-$250 Sharp Racing are Australian made and Is what we use : (no affilition at all ,just they are great and I like to support Australian companies)

The 1 i have for my XR250R is Hydraulic so when you remove the safety pin and lift the handle, she lets herself down nice & gentle. As No-Fear said "heaps good to work with". All good mate! In fact, i'm gonna try it with workin on my pocket rocket - should get both wheels off the ground & be more stable than the standard pocket bike stands!

A milk crate does a good job if you don't want to spend $$$.

It'll well be considered. :)

Not a bad idea! i used to use my old willow esky with a few bricks beneath it to prop it up. Was good untill the plastic cracked! now ive got myself a nice stand.

Go the milk crate! lol...thats what ive been using since day one HaHa! :D

large 20L alloy drum of oil, used to fill semi's

also go plastic box shaped seats which fill with water so no one at the shops can steal them... although it helps when they have water in them!!! :)
