Well with that sorta budget, the world is your oyster. Well not quite, but it does give you a lot of options.
Working with that sorta funds, i'd be taking a quick trip into East 50's, and having a chat with Brian. He has a pretty good range of Pitster Pro bikes in there, and his prices are great. Dealing locally with a dealer who has good parts and service back-up is always a win over sourcing something from Ebay.
Take a look at East50s website, you'll be bound to find a bike on there that suits what you want.

East 50s sells DHZ 125 pros for a little over $800... have a look at the link and click on the bike... it shows rrp... or failing that, for the price you want, perhaps try DHZ direct on ebay, or even Atomik. For the quality, after sales service, and bang for your buck, i'd find another $150, and buy two of the DHZ's from east 50's... wont have to worry about postage or shipping costs either...
