Hey guys,

I recently washed my bike after taking it for a ride after that i tried starting it and to it wouldnt start so i waited a few days n still wont start....I replaced the spark plug just in case but nope didnt work, theres still compression in the engine it just doesnt feel like kickin off? Any ideas? or How should i go about to find the fault? would it be in the electronics...?

thankss!

sooner i get ridin again the better

co over all your electrics, look at the joints, and see if there is any corrosion/splits/rust in your wiring joints or splits in your wiring.. spray the joints with RP7 aswell, usually does the trick

did you cover the filter and the exhaust while washing the bike or did you wash it by hand?

because if water got in the carb that could be a possibility and also as you said it can be electronics
have you checked the spark?

to check the spark take out the spark plug connect it to the coil then hold the spark plug from the COIL and lay it on the engine then kick it over with your hand and if it sparks it's not your electrics...

what ever you do don't touch the spark plug when you check the spark it will zap you bad so hold it from the coil end

you can take the sparkplug out and stick ya finger up it and do the same and it gives you a really phunky zap ;)

hell yeah boy done that the other day made me throw my can of drink next door lol

yeah i covered my filter to some extent but i dont think it was enough i hav a feeling there is water in the carby...is there anyone to check this? n how hard is it to pull the carby apart?.....yeah il do a once over on the electronics (il check spark plug etc..could it be the cdin possibly?)

thanks everyone been helpful il test the spark plug n if its not that then i guess its a carby pull apart!

:(

thanks.

but i tried the spark plug and it isnt sparking....how do i narrow down from there?

Check that all the wires from the coil are connected to the wiring harness are connected and both of the plugs a pushed on properly
that goes for every other plug but there will sometimes be one left over not in use so yeah

i suggest its the carby there a few vids on youtube look at them i fixed my little yz50 for a while by cleaning the carb its really not that hard to clean just need carby cleaner and air compresser and some basic tools eg screw driver needle nose plyers and a small spanner

carby has nothing to do with spark...

clean all your electrical connections with wd40 and compressed air and spray everything with wd40 straight after you wash your bike..
