hey all! so here is my question today....

i want to design and make my own LED tail/brake light.... now.. for the brake i am pretty much 100% sure id have the full 12v running to it when the brake is pressed.... but how about a tail light? so when the headlight is on the red tail light is also but dimmer.... do i just chuck a resistor in the switchwire? or is it more complex than that? if it is ill just buy a pre made brake light... also if it is just a resistor... what size/band colors would i need to get? thanks in advance hope it all makes sense...

Brake light bulbs are dual filament, so a duller filament for park light and the brighter filament for brake light. You could use low intensity led's for park light and hi intensity for brake light, or just have more led's for the brake light circuit. That being said you can buy led tail light setups with bracket/number plate holder cheaper than what the materials would cost on EvilBAY from china

now cmon! ebays great! buying stuff from china is a choice.... ebay is awesome for buying second hand bits/parts!hahaha! but i think ill just buy the whole setup, will be a hell of alot easier!

drill some holes in it and just cable tie it on the back and say its a "drift mod"
