My Bro's Pitpro brake handle thing snapped off when he stacked it.

Here's a pic

How would this be fixed? Can you just buy new brake handles, or would he have to get a whole new brake set thing.

Also which oil would be better to use for our 125 Pitpros? A 10W-50 synthetic based or a 15W-50 mineral based. I couldn't get a 10W-50 of the mineral based, only 15W-50. I heard 10W-50 was better for mini bikes so I got a 10W-50 synthetic (there was no 10-50 mineral like I said) based this time when my mineral ran out but I'm thinking I should have just got the mineral based again even if it is 15W-50.

The brake is more important right now however.

Cheers.

Yeh all u need is just the brake lever and the synthetic oil should fine if the engines been ran in

Mad, thanks.

How can I tell if the engine's been ran in?

wow this is like me 2 days ago.

I ordered a new brake from pitpro just messaged them on eBay it cost $30 + $5 postage and they even sent it express for me so it arrived b4 the weekend.

About the oil yeah i couldn't find any 10-40w either so I used 15-50w which the packet said for 4 stroke motorbikes and the bike seems to love it, felt really smooth compared to what it was using b4.

So did you just get a brake lever too?

hey dozze,
a few ways 2 tell when its run in, it will feel more in your control & you can take it harder, usually it takes around 3 tanks to fully run it in, not sure about a pitpor but probably 3 tanks, you will feel more respnse & yeh, you can just tell, i was asking that question first, you can just tell, your in more control & stuff, it goes better, 1 question for me, i have got an average bike (chinese) & need to change the oil, i have been putting it off for WAY too long, i havn't even changed it from the oil it comes with, probably CHEAP & CRAPPY stuff, what do you guys use & wat works best, 125cc 4 stroke DUCAR engine.

Yeah buying new brake levers is regular maintanance really, unless you never crash! Just go to your local pitbike shop, no need to buy online and wait, if you cant find a shop, theres a thumpstar dealer in every state and they sell brake levers, other than that you can get an XR "shorty lever" from most dirtbike shops and they fit pretty well.

The other day I even broke of a foot peg and baught a new one.

you aren't supposed to use synthetic oil in a bike with a multi plate wet clucth as the synthetic oil will make the clutch slip. make sure you guys are using non synthetic oil other wise you'll have a little trouble.

Not true if you use synthetic oil designed for bikes.
This copyed from another site.

Unfortunately, if you use a semi or Fully synthetic oil designed for cars ( ie, no wet clutch ) in a bike, there is every possibility that the friction modifiers will attach themselves to your clutch plates and do the job they were intended to do ( ie reduce friction ) - now correct me if I'm wrong, but a clutch works by creating friction between the plates? Not very good if something stops this friction effect then is it - hence you get a slipping clutch sooner or later. This doesn't apply to bikes with dry clutches of course. ;)

Bike synthetics don't have the same friction modifiers and so are safe to use in bikes with wet clutches, you still get the other benefits of a synthetic, ie, better oxidation resistance at higher temperatures etc.
