I finally got my new sprocket from elstars..waked it on today and managed to ride it about 100 metres when it fell off. I found that one screw had fallen out and the hole that it goes through into the hub had snapped off. The i saw a split in the other bolt hole and i just ulled it and it broke off. what is this **** made out of! i mean it must be alfoil or sum ****!lol. It not too bad though ecause i am getting a new rim from atomik because it broke. but that doesnt mean its not gonna happen again!
Any way in the 100 metres i did manage to ride it i noticed a huge differens...each gear is nearly twice as long! didnt even get it to fourth on my track!

ill get some pics tomorrow off the damage!

37 tooth, but it had nothing to do with that the hub was already screwed b4 i rode it with the new sprocket..but that little ride finished the job.

sorry bout the quality i had to use night vision coz my video camera doesnt hav a flash

Sounds like the sprocket was slightly mismatched to the hub. Although it seemingly bolts up okay, if the stud pattern is not exactly the same in an alloy hub you can get bolt shear and hub destruction like you got. Did they match exactly? Also the centre bearing housing should be same size as the centre hole in the sprocket.

i was only able to bolt it into two of the hub holes as the other two have snapped off bolts inside them (that happened a while ago)! I think it mainy happened because there was so much pressure on one side of the hub and because the bolts are high tensile instead of them breaking the hub did. No biggie though the new rim should be here soon and im gonna put loctite on the bolts and make sure the sprocket fits perfectly.

My brother in law just tried to change his sprocket last night and snapped three of the bolt heads off. I laughed for half an hour solid. Factory went crazy with thread lock goo.

lol yeah. the bolts that came with mine just kept working there way out due to the vibrations. I rode my bike for a day solid and forgot to tighten them and i was lookin at my bike the next day and two had fallen out and the other two where snapped off inside the hub. Im getting a whole new rear rim off warrenty. I would like to get a stronger hub or complete rear rim but dont hav the money (well dont want to spend it :p lol) Hopefully though with the high tensile bolts and the loc tite it wont happen again.

The sprocket is a 100% match for the Orions ...mm for mm

Over 950 sold over the last year and a half

Although if your hub is in poor state a smaller sprocket exerts more force and could damage your hub especially if some thread is already broken and riding with the sprocket mounted on 3 screws...

The 37 tooth sprocket is the best upgrade you can do to the early Orions as there first 2 gears are like 2 meters apart..

Use star pattern when tightening the bolts.....and a bit of blue loctight (breakable one) This will insure the srpocket sits nice and plumb and the screws dont come off....Also we recommend changing the **** Orion screws for High Tensile screws that will prevent them being sheared off..
