Hi Guys,
I'm going to cash out my Mountain biking since i just don't have the time anymore, and was looking at picking up 2 Mini dirtbikes, 1 for me, 1 for the missus.. (yes she's pretty keen)
I'm looking to spend around $900 ish each, delivered to WA.
so that pretty much limits me to Ebay bikes..
I have spent time myself on 125 and 250cc 2/ dirt bikes in the past,
I've ridden Thumpstar (genuine) 110cc and 125cc's, I really enjoyed them, but if they where a tiny bit bigger I would prefer it, both me and my GF at 5ft 10" and 75kg and 62kg respectively.
I did spend a few days on the thumpys, doing from trail riding to dirt jumps,
The bikes will probably spend alot of time trail riding generally, some singletrack (too tight for a big bike) and alot of firetrails. However my Bike will spend some time at the local council BMX Tracks every now and then.
There is a few bikes I've looked at, if anyone can give me pro's con's ect, since i really don't know exactly what i'm looking at, to be honest I was pretty disapointed with the Thumpstars, I cannot see how they can be worth $2500-3000.
Considering that trail riding will happen more than dirt jumps, I was hoping for a 14"/17" wheel combo, there is heaps of 12"/14" combos around, the Thumpys I rode I believe had either a 10"/12" or a 12"/14" combo. Which was too small for flat out firetrails at times. (rocks ect)
Here is the bikes I'm considering.

I noticed the ProX 140cc comes in 2 models from different sellers, one with 12/14" wheel combo and a oil cooler, and one with a 14/17" wheel combo and No Oil cooler.
is a oil cooler going to really be neccessary?
Is the 140cc engines really better than the 125cc's? will the 140cc be quicker than that 200cc? I see there is also 150cc bikes getting about as well.. whats the go with those? is one brand of engine better than another? Lifan/Ducar? ect?
I have no issues with rebuilding/internally tweeking suspension forks and shocks, adjusting and fixing clutches, bleeding/repairing hydraulic brakes, and just general maintainence like changing oil, keeping air cleaners clean ect. even Minor motor modifications. I'm not one of those people who can't look after there bike, and I don't expect the bike to be reliable if I'm slack with the maintainence.
I will be wanting 2 bikes, preferably the same, I would have loved to be able to get the missus one with a auto clutch, but it appears you can't get them no more. Too bad she will have to learn to use a clutch.
I on the other hand definatly want a manual clutch, I will be jumping the bike a bit, but this is secondary to just general hacking around on the Farm, and trail riding, and doing wheelies/general playing ect.
If you guys can suggest any other bikes, please do.
I'd prefer a bike with 700-900mm seat height, and 14/17" wheels, (not bigger tho, I still want a mini pit bike lol)
thankyou for your time.
