does anyone know why i cant select neutral when the engine is running?

with the engine stopped, finding neutral is easy, but after riding the bike, than pulling up and wanting neutral it just wont happen, gear lever just wont select gears unless i push the bike forward than select it....

any advice would be great,

Ducar engine BTW

same thing happens to mine its no big deal

Try tightening your clutch cable. Same thing used to happen to mine before i tighttened it.

Does your bike try to move forward when its in first and idling with the clutch lever pulled all the way in ?

If so your clutch isnt fully disengaging when you pull the lever in so the cable needs to be tightened.

thanks guys,

thought it might of just been my bike....

thanks for the replys!!

yeah happens with my bike..i find it easier to rock the bike back and forward and put it in seacond and then give it a real light push down and it goes straight into neutral!!!

well i just went and checked the cable, and did notice when its in gear idling with the clutch in, it was pulling forward a bit, so i adjusted the cable,

now it finds neutral heaps better:D

thanks synrgy

flarry,
first gear is probly down so second would be up and neutral is halfway between first and second on those gearboxes
