Chain too LONG

Well I got a new chain today. I asked for a 428 pitch and brought my old one and they gave me one. I got home and went to start putting it on and saw that it was too big.

I thought a 428 pitch was a small chain for Pit bikes, or are there 428 pitch chains of any length?

Am I able to remove links to fit it on?

Thanks.

What is the flange and how do you grind it out?

They allways sell em pretty long so they aint too short, yesterday I baught a new 428 chain myself, and I just got the chainbreaker and cut out 3 links.

Where can I get a chainbreaker?

any good moto store should have em but theyre not cheap $50+ for a good one, to grind out the link just use a angle grinder or a dremel or sumthen that will grind the top of the pin of,the pin is the bit that the smaller link goes through, um its hard to explain, anyway theyre is a flange on the end of the pins to stop the link falling apart so if you grind the flange of u can just tap it out and you can take sum links out. if anyone wants to try and explain it better go for it i didnt do to well.
