Looking at buying some coilovers for the wife's car to lower it down some, just wondering if anyone's brought some and know a lot about them, so to give me some info on what I should be looking for?

It's still going to be the family wagon so not after a full race spec setup.

Cheers

i have done a few coilover conversions before to VS VT Commodore struts, the place where i used to work used them in TR7 V8 race cars etc.
i cut the spring seat off the strut and weld on a big threaded tube, then it give's it adjustable height
they end up looking like this

would you be buying a ready made kit, and just swap the struts over ?

there are a few companys' making kits for the popular makes now

Yeah they are not bad for the price, parts cost around $400 to do 2 struts.
It's almost half price.
You have to remove the guts of the strut, all the piston and valving etc, then fit your new gas insert once the new threaded sections are welded on.

You could just put new suspension in with lower springs

Yeah thought of that but putting in lowered springs is a huge no no, and to but the struts/springs and camper kit you may as well of brought the coil overs to begin with?

Yeah was looking at a few but Tein has a bolt on setup ready to go for 1k

For tein coil overs that a pretty good price, you won't go wrong with them.
