whats it take to change an 88 in to a manual clutch?
and is it worth doing?

Pretty simple if you buy a manual conversion kit , theres cheap ones to really expensive ones .

I think a true crf50 is auto and should stay auto.

fair.
best place to find a stage 2 camshaft?

i got told stage 2...
what would be a good one to go with?

If you have a takegawa 88 kit they come with a good cam , so that hot cams one would be a waste of money if you want to make a world of different to ya engine..

if i want to make a world of difference.... ?

Yes? .............. the cam will change the power slightly , depending on the specs ... it mite give you a little more topend and lose abit of bottom end , or it mite do the opposite .. or it could be worse all over compared to the taky cam...

Since you already have a taky one it aint worth $130 , for very minimal gains....

Buy it if ya want i dont give ****

Any thing over about 220 duration at 1mm is gonna bleed off low end, esp with the tak dished piston. TB slug has more squeeze and will tolerate a bigger cam.
Tak R10 would be my pick, with a piston change, and some head work. Cut so seat is toward outer edge of valve, back-cut the valve, run a 30 degree top cut, 75 in the throat to narrow the seat and open bowl. Porting too, if allowed. For bashing, a cheap e22 will add heaps, with the right slug.
