hey fellas, well today i purchased myself a stock 05 honda crf50f which i am picking up in sydney on saturday morning which im stoked about NOW FOR THE QUESTIONS:

well first of all does anyone know what time dhz mini motos shop is open till on saturdays lol ill ring them tommorow but just thort one of you might know?

if they are open im gunna head into dhz and buy just a fastace bs-58-ar rear shock just for a while till i order my elka mini series shock from the USA and ill pick up a 1200lbs spring for it while im there.

now do any of you guys know what the shock bolt size on a crf50 is is it 8mm or 10mm or 14mm or what i think its 8 or 10 but not to sure???

also ino the dnm mst shock is made for a mx style swinga not a A style but do you think i could make it work on a crf50 just for a couple months im just asking because ino its better then the bs-58-ar shock and has the heavy lbs spring already,so what do yas think??

also does anyone know where i can get a set of factory 08 honda graphics for cheap as it costs a arm and a leg from the moto shops ive heard???

stock 50 bolt size is 8.5 mm (8.3 to be precise) what about a fox float?for the stickers check out bike bandit .com i know they have them or the one industries(factory) are basically the same

well with the dnm shock it could fit but where ever theres a will theres a way so if it was me i would make the dnm shock fit....i hope this helps :D lol

so the fastace shock wont fit then bugger the fastace eye diameter is 8mm

you could still probably use the fast ace. the stock bolt o/d is 8.3 so im guessing the mounting holes on the stock swinga and frame are 8.5mm by the look of the pics the eyelet looks solid so you could maybe slip a drill bit through it just a random idea

Maybe try a Kitaco shock coz for around $150 bucks they look the goods and are designed for the crf50. Just a thought

What did you buy?

The aussie dollar is at 82cents now:eek:

yes that is peeing me off heeeps!! when i bought a few things it was 95cents :D i was loving it..... now its just getting ridiculous and not worth it...

Reading haha.....

Okay

Here's my steps to cleaning it:

1) Remove plastics and tank , put the bike up onto a milkcrate
2) spray truck wash on the engine , high pressure clean off
3) Get a bucket , fill it with hot water and truck wash , some nappysan and washing deturgent , mix it around
4) now for some cleaning items , I used:
- Small wire scrubbing brush : Gets stabourn stains out
- Bigger stiff , flat brush. Your Mum should have one of these as with the wire brush to clean sinks etc - check laundry
- Scotchbrite scouring pad : Mum will have one
- Some sandpaper: Gets the last of the stains
- Sponge
5) Grab your stiff brush and get scrubbing
6) one your done getting most of the removable stains , use the wire brush to get the rest
7) any stuborn bastard stains use the sandpaper on it
8) Use your scotchbrite pad to polish her up , scrub it till it looks new
9) sponge it and give it a final pressure wash
10) leave to dry out
11) Grab some polish , I reckon Briteshine cotton polish is the go , it leaves a chalk finish then give it 5 mins and rub it off and it returns any metalic surface to new

Basically perserverance and common scense will lead the way , just use different tools to clean it up...

Hope that helps!

fast ace shock might not work, because a: the spring rates and damping rates are for an mx style swingarm, and you wont be able to budge the thing as the rising rates are worlds apart when you compare a-style swingarms to mx style swingarms... i know this cause i tried to install one of these shocks into an 04 thumpstar with the a style swingarm... you will probably need to go for an a-style specific shock, as with the fast ace or DNM shock, with a 1200lb spring, you will snap your legs, frame and everything else before you get the shock to compress.... you may also have issues with the remote reservoir fouling the frame with the a-frame swingarm with the fast ace shock...

might be somthing to do with the clutch? But an old mates crf was like that realy hard to change gears, sounds very simlar.Dont think he ever got it fixed so not sure what it was?

u need u back off wen u chage gears and if that dont work try ajust the chuch tighent it all the way up then back it off 1/4 of a turn
