hey all i want to get some advice ive read that the crf150r has valve problems ive read that if you keep the air cleaner clean and regular oil changes and run valve guard that the bikes arnt too bad i plan to get one but im not going to be riding it flat pinned all the time i will only ride it maybe 6 hours a month on my days off do you still think ill have heaps of problems

With any modern high performance 4 stroke you're going to have to do alot of hours in the shed to keep ya thumper ticking.
Cleaning the filter after every ride is essential. As with running premium fuel , checking valve clearences according to manual spec's and changing out the oil every ride to second ride. You will need to maintain the 150r more than say a 250f or a 450f due to reving the think out more frequently.

ive looked at a 250f and its just too big for the area that i ride in its like 3 acres so a 250 is too big
bysytle of riding isnt to go flat out its just abit of fun most times when i rise its only for like 2-3 hours maybe like 10 hours a month max

Get a klx110 that would be perfect for what your looking for.

Oh and mod it:D

i think they got titanium valve as standard
makes them rev hard but not for as long
now i'm told one of the guru engine people at honda trick these things up so they can get up to 3-5 more hp than standard and thats running stainless valves which where more reliable well in the 250f they where

i know they are a pretty quick bike and would be sic as rip around on

I like the look of the crf150r and it has the potential to be an absolute beast. With the kind of coin you have thrown at the ttr50 the crf150r would be an almost unbeatable midsize :D

the 150 eats the 85 two strokes...
it would be a great.. and it is honda so it will last forever haha

ya mate if you just clean your airfilter before every ride be very picky with them make sure they are spotless and change your oil every 5-10 hrs of use or every 3-4 rides and change the oil filter every oil change or every second......if you keep your maintenance up on these bikes they actually last quiet well and a carby clean every 30hrs doesnt hurt either:D

hey, if you only have 3 acres, unless u r gunna go mx, why dont you go for a crf 150f or a crf 230? im told they are like the xr's, they are virtually bullet proof, and require not too much maintainance. But i recon cleaning the filter and suff, like lubing the chain, they will go for donkeys. but if you dont wanna go that way, take no affence to what i said, just a suggestion.

or with all the money you saved you can trick it upp a lil
