Hey glad to have finally found a good local forum relating to these bikes!

Anyway have just purchased a stock '05 crf50. Have only ever ridden a registered scooter and blata rep pocket bike.

I'm 5'9 105kg's... I feel so unco on it atm. About to order a bar kit and stiffer springs. Any other suggestions to make it more user friendly?

Also What labor and machining work is required with the 88cc and 106cc Takegawa kits? Approx cost?

Cheers.

300ish! any other questions mate? im sure you will love your 50 once its done :)

no machining work for the 88cc kit, my kit took about 2hrs to install. and I dont think the 106 kit requires the cases to be bored.

approx cost? google it.

Welcome man!!!

One bit of advice I will give is that have a go at installing the kit yourself, follow a few tutorials on here and I guarantee you will be able to do it no problems. You'll save a ton of coin and later on when things go wrong you'll have a better understanding of what the problem could be, etc.

Any questions feel free to ask man!

Thanks for the welcome.
I'll have to look into the Takegawa kits a little further.

What are good value springs available to suit standard shocks and my weight? (230 lbs). Front and rear combo preferred. Found a combo cheap but I think it's just an upgrade for juniors. "for riders over 165 lbs"

The front feels ok but the rear bottoms out as soon as I sit on it haha.

fox float shock on the rear and get red baron +1 fork kit for the front , or somthing that has +1 cromo fork legs hd bushes and hd springs , then suspensions done!
they worry bout bore kits

Fox shock has been recommended to me already. Would rather a spring upgrade if it will work decently.

Just want a basic setup at this stage due to budget and size constraints as transport vehicle is just a medium size hatchback.

Ok have decided to go with a Fastace rear shock. What length and spring rate is going to suit me best trying to keep as close as possible to standard ride height?

Help really appreciated with this one cheers.

Stuff the fast ace.

Get a taky shock from classic Honda 50's. Awesome shock at a good price.

Be 10 times better than fast ace.

Thanks. Waiting for a call back from them. The basic $125 shock is out of stock.. Hopefully they can get more in soon. Looks like that and fast 50's heavy front springs are the go.

im 6ft 2'' and 110kgs and my fastace barely moves when riding unless i smash a big jump
