Ct200u torque converter with no torque!

Ive had a set of ct200u's for a year and they are a blast. Last week I put on an Amazon torque converter and changed the crank from 16mm to 3/4. Everything fit well, mostly. Now the rear wheel doesnt spin freely and it has no torque.
It will only start moving at full throttle and takes forever to get up to speed.
I was promised wheelies!

Did some testing: with the rear wheel lifted it performs as expected. The front end of the belt enlarges and the read gets smaller; but when riding the front expands but the rear doesnt contract

No, the shafts are different sizes. It would require a large hammer to do that!
