Hi,

I have been in the dirt bike / motocross world for a while now, but know I am looking at getting myself a pit bike. I have done a good amount of research and have come up with some bikes I feel would suit my needs. However, I need your guys opinions and reviews. I am looking for a bike I can purchase fairly cheap $700-$1200, yet still be able to upgrade the bike with after market parts. This will be a project for me, but I do not want to get a bike where no aftermarket parts are available or fit the bike. Here are some bikes I have come up with:

ATOMIK MID SIZE 160CC YX

Pitster Pro x2 120 (been looking into as most probable bike for the price?)

SSR 125 PF2 PRO Pit Bike

SSR 125. $(700)

Any help-opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

-Gianni.

so.. seems your in the us of a... you may not be able to get a hold of an atomik 160 midsize.. so thats out the window :p
so you might wanna check out tbolt usa... they have got some mouth drooling bikes.. sadly im in australia :(
have you checked out the ssr tr125? 1059 usd thats a good price for a new bike! that has tttr110 plastics
so the main question is what will you be using it for? track? trail? Playbike?

Welcome to the minirders forum! go introduce yourself! and hope you find what your looking for :D

Hi Loco,

This bike will be a little of everything. Short trail ride, short track riding, and mostly just playing/messing around with the bike.

I was checking out the SSR's but was just thinking pitster was maybe a better choice? I don't want to have to upgrade everything in the begining to make it work :).

I will do that!

Thank you,

-Gianni

yeah the pitsters are the higher end of the scale when it comes to pitbikes....the x2 120 would be a good bike by the looks of it! but it doesnt have usd forks.. where as the ssr does...
so its really lemons for lemons.. lol :p
the parts on these bikes are highly interchangeable and upgradeable!

If they say they will post to where ever you are. Assasin bikes I think they're Victorian Aus. Do some decent bikes in same twin spar frame as atomik. Or there is Foxico...or pitpro or pitster pro in the US. They all do bikes in that price range...may cost half a bikes worth for postage however!

You'll still need to go through and loctite all the bolts! Chinese bikes are good, but there is a fair assumption of mechanical ability in that price range you mentioned!!

id say pitpro = good build quality (but not by far its still a china)
Ad say atomik = bang for buck and faster (loctite main differance is bigger motor and no gpx forks)

id go atomik tbh
