Hi y'all,

I'm buying PocketHead's 125cc and have received quotes for bike transport companies. The cheapest is $283 ... ouch! I remember delivering my GSXR600 from QLD for about $350, so thats steep!

Anyone got any recommendations on transport?

I'm inclined just to get in the car one weekend and drive over. It costs me about $150 in petrol to Melbourne and back.

try independant truckies if you can find them as they are willing to chuck stuff on the back for some cash, my mate got a rm250 from qld to wollongong for around 200 from memory this way and if all else fails jump in the car its not that long is it?

Maybe 7 hours there, 7 hours back? Dunno, I normally don't stop and keep going to Phillip Island. LOL

If you know anybody who works for a parts depot or anyboy who ships stuff all the time they will probably have an account and can get freight cheap as (ask them if they can put it on their account. About one third of the cost of a private individual

my dad got his motor bike from adelaide to milldura (like 4 to 5 hours) for 2 cartons of beer um beer

I just can't believe I can move a 180kg GSXR from the Gold Coast to Adelaide for $350 ... but it costs $283 for move a 65kg pit bike from Melbourne to Adelaide. Someone needs to review their pricing system.

Hell, I might just drive over and visit the wineries around the south-east on the way. May even see if anything is lined up for Mac Park in the next couple of weeks. Might fit in a track day on the way there or back. :)

freight is $80 for mso people to ship there bikes to adelaide from nsw i think thats using TNT thats what i payed anyway.

But that would be all boxed up and probably on some account they have for shipping multiple items at a discount.

Still, I'll give TNT a call and see what they say.
