Hey guys, I was thinking of buying this with the 140 lifan engine, I've herd all about the engine, but what about the rest of the bike? is the quality as good as pitpro? or am I better off buying a pitpro 125 and upgrading to the 140 engine?

also, are these 140's and 125's suitable to be converted to minimotards?

thanks

as for the motard f*%$ yer. they rip. i like the smaller wheele size. as for the dhz frame i am unsure i have the pit pro 138.. if u have msn or any one else does add me [email protected]

that was the model i wanted but i stuck to pit pro cause i friend of mine advised me its better for WHAT i need.... aka wheelies :p

the pitpro rated pretty highly at the bike test i think...
Plus the quality has to be questioned when buying parts so cheap from DHZ just my two cents
Big Leigh

so the dhz is a no go in terms of the frame/componentry/build quality compared to the pitpro?

i have the pitpro 138cc an am very happy with it but theres no point in buying the pitpro 125 an putting a 140 engine in just buy the pitpro 138cc as it allready has a 138cc engine in it

dont mind ESD, he just hates DHZ for selling stuff so cheap :p

definately not good value for money buying a bike and then upgrading the motor... i would go for the DHZ as it has the latest greatest 140 motor (not 138) and looks a bit better IMO.... everything else looks about the same... priced pretty well too, they usually go for 799 where the pitpro 138's can sometimes go for a lot more than that

i wouldnt be supprised if they were made in the same factory... i dont think its fair to say the DHZ ***** all over the pitpro in quality? i think they look the same.. i own a pitpro and i would go with the dhz :p plus i think the DHZ looks better

looks can be decieving... pitpro 138 i say...i own one and it funken ripps:D

make sure if u get ones its agenuine 138cc engine. some just say they are...

thanks for the replies guys, i would love a 138 but none are going on ebay atm, i just won the bid for a pitpro125 for 595 including postage.

I want to set this baby up as a minimotard, do you think the stock bike will be able to handle well on the road?

what is the recomended wheel size for motard, 12's front and back? and also, can someone recomend me a good online place to order spares, and upgrades for my pitpro? i was looking for wheels, tyres, bars, and all the goodies you can do to make it perform better.

thanks guys

but we all know the AGB-29 smokes em all LOL

i bet they blow a lot of smoke ;)

12" front and back is the ideal motard size...i think you might be able to get away with 12/14 f/r but dont know... im having trouble finding cheap 12/12 f/r rims that take a 15mm axle (most are 12mm)... you can buy brand new 12/14 - 15mm rim sets for like $140+shipping from dhz on ebay that are basically the same as the rims a pitpro comes with... or nice 12" motard rims with billet hubs for us$100 each in the bulk buy ... and then some sticky scooter tyres maybe $50-70 each?

even with 12/14 and knobbies my pitpro feels pretty good on tarmac, nice and stable... front dances all over the place on the dirt

hey guys, got my pitpro 125 yesterday and put her together and started it up first time today

initial impression was the rear shock was a bitch to hook up, it wouldnt go in the mount, i had to hammer it in! scratches on the shock but lets hope i didnt damage it.

upon riding, it was a good engine, it ran well and it was smooth, easy to start etc.

ive found that when in a gear and the clutch in, there is still a fair bit of drive on the bike...is this normal, or does the clutch need to be adjusted to make sure its fully in?

also, is the chain supposed to have so much slack on it that it touches the rubber guard on the swing arm?

Hey man, my pitpro just arrived too and i have the same issue in 1st gear where you can feel it pulling slightly.

Let me know what you find out!

I think that plastic thing on the swing arm is there for the chain to rub on.

There are no pitpro 138cc on eBay right now its pissing me off, I want one now!!

I may just buy one from the pitpro website.

As for the 1st gear issue, you just have to adjust the clutch, EASYY!!

yes you need to adjust the slack on the clutch cable.

need to adjust the chain too. tension the chain so that when your sitting on it, it has about 15-20mm of freeplay in the middle.

buying a china bike can be a steep learning curve in bike maintenance, but its all good fun :)

bugger the pitpro 138, go the dhz 140!

Yes! From my first bike I have learned everything in mechanics! I had to fix everything and I'm glad becasue I now I have so much more knowledge and its easier to maintian and fix my bikes. :)

talking to the guys at pitpro today and they tell me their 140cc pitpro lands within the next week or 2 and be getting sold for around the $850 mark. much the same bike as the 125rr but with the 140 motor sound go can't wait to see!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the replies fellas, anyone want to tell me how to take up the slack on the clutch?

thanks

the pitpro isnt a 140, its a 138... but more likely a 127 i think?

the brass knob on the clutch lever where the clutch cable goes in, thats how you adjust the clutch. undo the locking ring then adjust the clutch so its not dragging but also not slipping when your giving it heaps... then do the lock ring up again
