im contemplating running these bars :TAG T2 TAPER HANDLBARS SUIT MINI MXER BLACK COLOUR rrp $160 | eBay

with these adapters :http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180865272022#ht_2608wt_828

Ive taken some measurements against my pro taper tucker rocky se bars ....

Length both bars sets are 740 with 175mm clamp area

height : about 20mm lower for the tag t2 mini fattys with 1 1/8 riser/adapters ... the new setups total grip height is about as high as the top of the bar pad of the current tucker se bars if you get what i mean... so around 20mm lower than the actual grip height of current bars

Id actually like the bars a tad lower but hopefully they feel and look alright on a crf 50 style bike ive tried to search for something similar but came up with nothing

Im open to any opinions / criticism

i bought the renthal mini racer bars in 7/8 diameter. used to have protaper rockys on my old bike and i prefer the renthals way more (meaning i think its good ppl get away from the pro tapers as theyre on pretty much every bike :p) tag are pretty nice and i contemplated a set when i got my bars. id be more worried about the noname adapter clamps ur looking at. i dont think thered be much quality or strength there

good thing is they were a very close match to the standard bars on my bike and they come in a range of colors if u wanna color match ur bike http://gear.motocross.com/motocross/renthal-mini-racer-handlebars not saying use that site if u keen on em, just an example

they also come in gold (thats what i got) but that site doesnt show them

Be carefull lowering the bars, mine seems a **** load harder to control over jumps with the lowered bars, BUT when i put mine on I probably dropped about 150-200mm in height, so a bit more drastic than yours.

yeah mine seems like it will only be 20-30mm max drop if i change em out to a set of tag t2 high rise fattys with the adapter kit so im hoping it wont make it sketchy .... still undecided whether to go ahead with it or not .... if i do ill post a review and pictures

Oh ive also got two pairs of the pro taper tucker rocky bars for sale im going to make a for sale thread so keep a look out if your interested guys ...

I dont like the feel of BMX/push bike handlebars on a motorbike, Maybe on a stock CRF50 with smaller wheels (Not 12" & 14") they would be OK?

Im running these bar mounts on my new build>

Universal Bar Clamps 11/8 For 28mm Taper handle bar CRF 50 XR 50 70 Black Color | eBay

Much cheaper mounts & work just as good

My $160RRP bars (Future Sport Motorcycles Townsville) & fatbar mounts cost me about $75 all up

That looks really nice Thump great job mate ! Cant wait to get mine setup :)

Thanks Nick, They will be very similar ergonomically considering they are both (Chinese) CRF50 style bikes with the mini bend (not BMX) bars

The Atomik may not be a better brand etc but the main parts like suspension etc are not Atomik parts now anyway
I have just got to do a few more bits n pieces & it will be finished (FOR NOW?) then onto building a DHZ outlaw style bike

TAG bars would be my next choice especially in black but when I came (Almost literally) across these SPEX bars I had to have them just to try them out, For $50 brand new INCL express post I jumped on them

I ended up going for the tag bars because they have more rise than most mini fat bar setups.... but those bars you got have excellent rise and $50 is a bargin ! To be honest if i would of came across them i probably would of gave them a go as well ....

So if you dont mind me asking hows the ergos of the bike running slightly lower bars to the bmx style bars ?? They look great i just hope they feel right when im riding it ....

The reach is the same as the bmx style at 740mm just lower rise by about 20mm

The specs for my carbon SPEX bars are on the 3rd page down here>

I cant really give you a comparison with this bike as I have just built it but I know that other bikes I have ridden with the BMX style bars felt terrible to me, Guess im just used to the feel of larger bikes with normal style bars & a bit more leverage on the front wheel

Thanks for the info on the bars your a legend

heres a comparison

spec sheet :http://www.sixsixone.com/media/2011_catalogs/Tag-2011-T2.pdf

spexmx vs Tag T2 mini

Width: 750mm 740mm

Height: 100mm 118mm

Rise : 85.6mm 83mm

Clamp: 172mm 175mm

Sweep : 55mm 42mm

Seems the T2's sit slightly higher overall by 18mm and 10mm shorter in width with an alot flater sweep on the bar ends by 13mm

We have a horizontal & a vertical comparison now :five:

OH well some people look at things differently

Slightly different bars but I bet they would feel very similar? Bit more sweep on mine but thats perfect for what I need them for, My kids

LOL nice we both did the exact same thing great minds think alike mate ha ha

The differences aren't that much really i probably wouldn't even notice it... the extra sweep might make em feel better who knows !

There nice bars at a great price good find:thumbup:

Ill post up pics once mine are on

Nice, They look a bit taller than mine but you have them angled forward a bit which makes a bit of an upward angle at the end of the grips? Most bars should run parallel with the forks if you look from the side
Some people like the freestyle look though

Can you get a pic from the side?
