do these two bikes parts interchange with each other fairly easily??? because i heard somewhere that they did. cos if they do i might get that ds and mod it with rm parts.

I know this thread is 5 years old but I just bought a mid 80's model DS80 off eBay and wondering the same thing, I've seen someone put the FMF pipe for a RM on the DS, are there other interchangeable parts? Other question is how can I tell the yr of my bike if the guy I've bought off doesn't know?

Something to look at>

Basically DS80 = late 70's - early 80's RM80, Not really an upgrade using old RM80 parts>

Would be nice (If they fit, Unlikely?) to put on a late model set of forks and shock or shock & swingarm but as mentioned you would be better off just getting an RM80

These things are getting hard to find , Just look after it & keep it original & it will be worth something one day
