Whats the go with this, in pretty much all auctions of Atomiks/Orions, etc?

Is this just a way for the sellers to bump up their sale price, aka shill bidding, and hide it?

yes thats exactly what it is.... if you hold the mouse over where it says "bidder 1" or what ever... it will tell you how many bids they have made, how many with this seller and how many they have won with this seller...

when i was bidding on my pitpro, there was someone putting in dummy bids on every bike for like a week, and they had bid on over 100 items in the last few months and 96% of the items were from this same seller...

dodgy, but hey they start the bidding at like $1 .... no way are they going to let a pitty sell for like $5 if its a slow day lol

Yeh ebay is dodgy, and even if the dummy bidders end up winning the bike because they bid too high they are probably employed at atomik so the bike just gets re-listed as a new action.

Just dont bid anything but the highest your willing to go until the last 5 seconds. Have 2 windows open, one with your top bid ready to confirm and the other you can sit and refresh, last 5 seconds, switch windows and hit confirm.

It is something ebay themselves are doing, supposedly to pretect ebayers identity, why they only do it on some auctions is beyond me.
