hi i have a orion 110 cc but i really want to make the exhaust more quiet. i drilled the rivets out today and there is packing inside so looks like i will need a standard exhaust off a scooter perhaps? any ideas on how i can make it quiet please

hey you could put a socket it the end of the muffler and put a bit of an old jumper in it and it will be a heap quiet

i made my pocket bike quiter im not sure how it would go on a mini dirt but any ways i removed the can an inside on the exhaust there are a few holes i drilled 15 more an bigger diameter then when i put the can back on i stuffed it with fibre glass matting not to tight cause then the exhaust fumes cant get in the can
it made my exhaust note softer
an didnt really notice a power difference

I don't know if you guys know it or not but good aftermarket pipes are actually quieter than the stock pipes. The volume may be similar but the tone is more mello and lower. The stock pipes are packed too tight and because of their design (or lack of) and small diametre, have a real annoying 'bark'. Most of the top aftermarket pipes sound sooo nice. They are pricey, but even on a stock motor with only porting and a tune will liven things right up. Also will allow your motor to rev about 1500rpm past where it was before.

Or you can buy a silencer on ebay for $10

can you plz post a link to a site were i can buy a aftermarket exhaust from
or a ebay link

hi, we put a metal sleeve to get some brass fittings to fit in, and we put a screw in the side to hold the fittings in, sounds heaps quieter dont think it de-grades the preformance, but the only bad thing is it doesn't look the best. i'll try to get some photos plus i've got a orion 125 and i think they have the same sort of exhaust as th 110's

and again these threads are over a year old y do u keep doing it

mate there is nothing wrong with adding to an old thread, if anything i would advise it. what do a lot of members say to the newbies "search the forums" well if people keeping adding to them, even if its not in use, then it will benefit others in having more information, new ideas and save a lot anger and frustration.
cheers

a good easy way to do it is grab a coke bottle and cut the top off it like 4-5cm down from the lid, then make some little cuts in the wide end just like 1cm so it can kinda flair out and flair in, in this case. then grab like a clamp off and old air filter and pop the end that youve flaired on onto the pipe and secure it with the air filter clamp

you can then one unscreew the cap or two drill a hole in the cap and screw it back on =P it sounds funny very pusser but still good for the backyard
