any one have them??? what are they like?

Im thinking of getting some tomorrow or sat. cost $64 from the local motorbike shop. has any one used these before? my mate has them and he says they are good but i would like some more opinions.

Factory racing = Old school poo 7/8 bars. Heaps cheapo. The only decent 7/8 bar out there is the pro taper SE bar , every thing else just folds including crappy renthal 7/8 bars. The factory racing bars bend like a spoon when you look at them , they are cheap but preety week. For $65 you may as well save another $20 and get some pro tapers OR buy a set of tapered bars and clamp adaptors.
My 2 cents.

now ive got 2 totally different opinions on them. my mate says they are heaps good and he cant bend them if he tried, he has also taken the cross brace out and they are still unbendable. he does go out to tracks and ride there aswell. and he doesnt treat them softly he flat lands stacks alot.

and i saw some pics and they are heaps thicker than any bars i have seen.

...

The crossbar is there for a reason so it should be left on!
Id rather spend the extra $10 or so dollars and get pro tapers or for something a little more pricey id go with the Easton EXP bars

what bars do you recommend then??? i need some around that price range.

i would prefer low rise. any good brands eg renthal, pro taper, tag. what are the models that you would recomend

Pro taper SE bars are the best in the 7/8 bar market , the Tag X5's arent quite up to the same standard. THe renthals are crap. Also the Universal Duece bar is also very very good and has a 12month warrenty on them plus are only $79. Other of M.C.S bar adaptors ( $25) , most taper bars are preety decent.

id go with the Easton EXP with the LIFETIME WARRANTY or the Tapers coz they are well worth the $$$ coz what u spend now u will save later. Check them out in this link, they have great shipping prices too

reikon also make a good set of bars.......i cant belive that your mate took that cross bar off thats insane bro

why is taking the crossbar off so bad? i havent dont it but i dont know why pplo do it. is it that the bars wilbreak, or r \u guys talking bout running without a crossbar pad? now i see the problem in that

but also the TAG bars are really nice, they came on my rm80 and i adapted to them quickly and they re a good sort of bend, i havent even bended em when i broke me collarbone at fort lytton, they too 30k jump ( a high 1) and coming down on em hard!

actually, Maylands performance (mpe- is a forum sponsor) are having a sale (or they were) ofr some protapers for 70$$$$ bucks cheapy cheapy, but they might have some left, it was a while stocks last sale, so ... it helps to look at the sponsor deals once in a while
