hay guys, well my original fastace shocka managed to unscrew itself and also snapped the brass shaft which controls the rebound. my mates original fastace shocka managed to do the same thing and this only happened when we tightened up the preload as we keep bottoming out over 30 feet tabletops. we got these replaced under warranty which was good but i am once again looking at fastace as the "top of the line" range seems to be solid.

the one i am looking at is the BS-66RC-280L and my original shocka was the BS-58AR-270L, what are your thoughts on these shocka's, as i dont want to walk into another mess when i could have got something like the ishock with a lifetime warranty.

Cheers guys, Tony.

instead of changing the adjustments, have you thaught of using a higher density shock/ fork fluid?

i have thought about this. realisticly i feel the shocka will still break under stress as yes we will be hitting this 30 footer and not bottoming out but when we get back into hitting the 60 footer the same serious pressure is still going to be there (only reason we stopped hitting the 60 footer was due to huge bottoming out, nearly being thrown off the bike etc..) also on top of this which i forgot to mention was the adjustment at the base of the shocka for rebound had actually snapped off on my mates, and mine just stopped working, you would turn the adjustment completly and it wouldnt do anything. another reason why we would like to upgrade to something stronger.

has anyone had this happen to them, do you have any thoughts on the BS-66RC-280L?? or do you think i would be more benificial to go for the ishock or something of similar quality.

Thanks, Tony.

Got any pics of you doing these 30 or 60 foot tabletops ?

gotts use locknut on everything so it doesn't unscrew itself!!!
what bout those 1000pound shocks? ie seen em somewhere but cant remember where

yeah the BS-66RC-280L is 1000 pound rated, seems nice and we can get them at wholesale price (dont know why the the guy at FMR is being really nice to us, we plan to order about 9 or so and get them directly from china.)

mjc85 unfortunatly i dont, whenever we go out were much too busy riding to want to take pictures which is unfortunate but soon enough i will bust out the camera and take some snappas. if you ever come down to adelaide go by a place called skateFX, behind the skating shed is a nice 30 footer there with some other decent ****, made all by hand unfortunatly and took us well over 3 weekends to get it right but now the owner said were not allowed to change it anymore, its either that or nothing. for the 60 footer head down to pelican point in Port Adelaide, right out the back, its not really a tabletop as you would view it but its a nice dirt kicka and a constant decent from there on out so you land nice wherever you land.

anyone using these fastace beasts??

Cheers, Tony.

Nah i will be using fastace on my new bike, duno what models they are though?>

hey bones were is the 60 at pelican point exacttly??? ride out there least 3 times a month havent seen it?

my thoughts are that the ishock will last alot longer. with it also havin a lifetime warranty, you wont have to pay anymore than when you bought it. i would go the ishock. one with a reservouir.

bones i had exactly the same problem with the BS-66AR-280L model i went over very small jump and the shaft unscrewed and broke 2 of the control axis so it doesnt hold oil and i can't adjust the rebound anymore im planning on taking it back and probably getting it replaced, i guess ill just be extra carefully next time and i will be putting locktight on. I think fastace need to take a look at this problem.

damnnnn... thats real unlucky man. a mate has just got one of these in a rather big order of fastace shocka's, fingers crossed he doesnt have the same problem were all having.

i went into sadirtbikes (australia distributor of pitster / GT) and so far out of probably 75 gt125x bikes they have sold about 10 - 15 have come back with this problem so i dont think its a batch of bad shocka's unfortunatly, more like a flaw in design. from what i have been told by one of the lads at sadirtbikes, there bringing in the pitster x3 which is running a different rear shocka, which one exactly i am not too sure but i will do some research, if they have changed away from fastace i guess we all know why.

Cheers, Tony.

I run the BS-66RC-280L. Have found it to be a good shock.

The I-shock has its problems too. Plenty of guys in the states have snapped em. The worst I heard of was a guy snapped three in one day.

wow. he musta been pushin those shocks to the limit, and then some.

the ishocks are only really ment for the cantilever swingarm (the triangular shaped swinarms).

If money is no object you could try an elka shock. Have heard nothing but good reports.

money isnt too big of an issue but + $600 would be a little steep. i have too heard nothing but good news about the elka's. another good brand from word of mouth is fox. both of these brands are used by bbr (america's leading custom build mini's)

i will look further into it,

Cheers, Tony.

i run a fox air shock .f#ck yaeh its unreal
