hey guys just wondering if anyone knows the size of the nut that holds on the magneto on a gpx 125 at all im having abit of trouble finding the right nut

na just had a look and im my jialing 125 i got a 10mm bolt i got heaps lying around if you wanted one

they are normaly 10mm x 1.25 thread flange nut
and take a 14mm spanner

just tryed its not its alittle bigger then that nut but smaller then a 12

Use a 1/2 inch or a 7/16... if any nut doesnt exactly fit a regular metric spaaner then it has to be imperial...

it will 99.99 % be metric but who knows with some chinesse stuff these days
the other day metric thread and imperial outer

you havent hit the crank at all to remove the fly wheel ?
i get customers every now and than asking how to fix a flaird crank thread cause they smacked it with a hammer

could be metric fine... m10x1.25 or 1.0 pitch, etc etc.... wheres the original nut? try um, a bmx axle;) chances are its what you want.

imperial? wtf? only imperial thread ive come across in anything chinese/japanese is the glowplug on a nitro engine... 1/4 x 32 tpi or unef... had fun tracking down one of those taps... same place that does me left hand taps...

even a puller can flare the shaft though...

grind the flared part of it down and run a die back over it
should recut it easily you can also get a thread file from bursons just make sure it has the right thread pitch on it

id be inclined to invest in the thread file myself, they can come in handy... if you arent careful with a die, you run the risk of stripping your thread, and that means...new crank time:eek:
