So i picked up a FMF factory 4.1 and i have to say this thing its one animal of a pipe .

The pipe diameter is around 45 mm at its largest point , well made , looks fantastic , it has a really deep loud note as well....... all in all very very nice pipe .

Fitment : Well what can i say here ....... If you aren't a extremely handy person DONT attempt bolting one of these pipes on a Chinese Crf50 style bike they dont fit for S**T to say the least....

First issue is port angle klx style motor/head on a crf50 style frame ...ok so i found a angle adapter called a NCC pipe Adapter to correct the port angle . This was rubbish ! not only did it NOT fix the angle issues it threw the pipe way too far away from the exhaust port and the supposedly longer 50mm x 6mm studs they supply you in the kit just aren't long enough even if this device had any chance of working ... a waste of $30

All righty moving on..... So then ... in the end i used the 50mm x 6mm studs supplied in the NCC pipe adapter kit to make the bolts clear the pipe sides .... bolted it up with 1 copper gasket nice and tight but obviously this made the pipe stick out of the side of the bike like a broken leg due to the different port angle .....

If that wasn't bad enough? the rear mounting bolt hole wasn't within an arms length of being even close to bolting up to the standard spot either... By this time it was looking like a very expensive disaster..

After a few swear words and i calmed down i decided the only way to get this pipe bent the way i need it is heat ....

ok easy start the bike get her hot ! Got her going warmed it up and held the rpms up a decent amount until i could see a really nice red glow happening near the head and slowly i started to apply pressure inwards towards the subframe....

At this point its make or break but i was quite happy when it actually worked .... this was no small amount either im talking like around 100mm + of bending to be done inwards but i got it there and the pipe is still perfect pheewwww......

Next the whole muffler mounting issues...

Actually all i did was line the pipe up where i wanted it to sit , got myself a bolt with two nuts and two washers one on either side of the pipe mount ... this allows me to move the pipe in or out (towards or away) from the frame and sub frame by about 10mm each way ....

Then rubbed back some paint on the subframe lined it up and just tacked the bolt quickly with the mig welder where i wanted it .

Unbolted the sub frame and proceeded to weld the crap out of it ... repainted and reinstalled the subframe bolted / adjusted the pipe on its new mount and shes all done !

Everything fits within a pubic hair tolerance as well ... pipe next to sub frame and also the clutch adjustment bracket .. due to the monster pipe diameter .

No pipe adapters needed just the one gasket , some 6mm studs , heat to bend it some and some welding skills ...

Was it hard ??? ahhh yeah its definitely up there !

Would i do it again ??? No way in hell not even if you payed me lol....

Thats is all people OH and pictures of course lots n lots of pictures.... everyone loves pictures .......

Cheers guys .... and the sound is just something else ....

I think I've started her up everyday since i put it on just to hear the sweet note it produces

that pipe looks mint! would it be an easier fit to a motovert pro with a daytona 125?

I have no idea ! mine really sucked to install but many hours later and many swear words , welding + bending its on there mint now .. They are one monster sized pipe 42mm diameter at its biggest point . Sounds 20 times better than the china rubbish it had on it too.

Looks sick!! Did you notice any power increase from it? I'm assuming you need to re-tune the carby to get the most out of it?

mate can i ask what its worth and where you got it from

I honestly havent touched the carby its running perfect as is .. ive got an oko 26mm 36/102 jetting

power is the same ... i dont think i could honestly get it running any better she's sweet as ...

I did notice one difference .... i can rap the throttle super quick now without any hesitation or bog at all .. in gear under load or free revving in neutral , before it was a little hit and miss sometimes it would bog sometimes it wouldn't but now its totally gone . Id say due to larger pipe she's breathing alot better .

thanks mate do you think it made a difference

Yeah it defiantly got rid of the bog / hesitation i had and couldn't tune out either by jetting etc .. which didn't really bother me anyway but hey its a bouns !

Nice pipe. I like.
How much was postage??

Ummm i think it was around $40 mate ... you can pick em up on eBay for $280 posted .... but i brought a few other things from T-Bolt at the same time so it worked out better value for me than eBay buying multiple items separate postage from different sellers
