I have a fmr 140 almost new probably only a couple of hours on it. It is really hard to start and when you finally get it going it idles perfectly, but as soon as you start to give it a little bit of throttle it starts breaking down or pulsating.

I have checked the valve clearences, carbie, sparkplug, timing etc but cant work it out. I have suspicion that it has something to do with the ignition system.

has anyone had this problem before? or possibly know what is happening?

Thanks.

check the plugs going onto the coil mine came loose and done that. just go over your electrics and make sure nuthing is frayed or loose. umm id try getting one of ya mates (presuming they have a thumpstar) and try there cdi or just go to a bike shop n ask them if you can try one of theres

this should fix it

Nah choke isnt on.

it will be the cdi unit under fuel tank on right hand side of bike gen part will cost around $60.00 it will be braking down under load. mine just done the same thing 2 tanks old
