The issue i have is that when i hit the front brakes the front end jolt like the hangers have movement in them, but it is actually the whole front end moving... as in where is front end swivels it have a little play.. but is scary when breaking.. does anyone know waht this could be ??

thanks in advance

do you mean in the head stem??

theres a big nut on top of the shock clamps, undo this, and under the clamps there will be an adjusting nut, it has notches cut into it, get a screw driver and lightly tap it so your turning it CLOCKWISE, keep turning it till you have no play left in the head stem bearing, if your steering goes too tight, it means you have overtightened it,

i think this is your problem!!!

hey yeah pitmaster i think u got it... i thought it woulda been that aswell.. but i wanted o make sure first...

please keep posting suggestions.. i will be looking into this probly tomoro arvo... or i miht quickly look at it tonight...

my mxb used to do that it was that nut that pitmaster was talking about i tightened that and it was all good.

just went out and tightened that bolt that pitmaster was talking about.. and it seems to be fine.. when i ride this weekend i will see how it goes..

glad to help, and yeah welcome mate:)

if you just sit on the bike, and apply front brake, and push forward and back and load the front end up, you can usually feel any bearing play in the stem,

next time you go riding, just take the spanners with you, just incase you need a tad more tightening....

have fun

The correct tool to use would be a C spanner, and remember to loctite it or will just come loose again very fast.

You need to release all the top the top triple clamp pinch bolts. Then tighten the formentioned nut till there is no play in the stem. Then tighten the very top centre nut on top of the triples. This will tighten the triple clamp down onto the adjuster nut so it can't reverse back up the stem and loosen again. Then to finish retighten the fork pinch bolts. No locktight needed.
