Ok just seeing if anyone is keen if I start a homebrew thread if its something a few of us do or are thinking about?

I've been homebrewing for about 3 years now. I love beer I really really love IPA's or anything super malty and hoppy! Basically any beer is good beer and the best beer is always a homebrew!!

There are a lot of similarities between horticulture and brewing(yeah go figure) I think this is mostly to do with the fact yeast is classified as a plant(yeah also go figure)!
Homebrew is something I know pretty well, I can help anyone that is also keen in getting into it or help anyone with problems etc!! I've only ever had one batch go bad on me in 3 years

If you think we need a homebrew thread then chuck ya hand up!! Ie comment yes etc and I'll start one up

Here are a couple of my previous brews, sorry photobucket shat it pants when I tried to link it to facecrack, so small photos again sorry I cant solve googles problems!!!

This was when I was super into it, ie my number 1 hobby! This was made for a girl who became my ex before it was able to be drunk so, it got called what it got called!

This was a chocolate porter I made. Chocolate malt, fuggles, and damn good english yeast! I got a bit lary after a couple of these, I think it was up there with a good wine

you'll get no reply's to this thread if you just ask people to put their hands up if they make home brew.

Well throw it across into the hobby section then please good sir.....General chat has kinda died in the butt, so I was trying to spice up peoples lives....You still havnt said anything about the 2008 pitpro after I bolted up the shiny black swing arm and new 'ocean blue' export coloured frame :( I get sad!!!

Also all you lurkers GET ON IT!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!!! Just introduce yourselves and make some new friends

nah, i meant that how will you see people putting their hands up ?
unless they and you have web cams connected ???

Maybe they will read the title and realise I forgot to say 'just reply to this thread; yes or comment' if you're keen on a dedicated homebrew thread, and you either homebrew or are thinking of getting into homebrewing.....???

Better late than never I guess

Someone...ANYONE...please prove me right  Then we get a homebrewers thread which will be awesome!

If anyone is keen I can tell you a recipie to make a Corona Clone for $13 a CARTON...yes 15 longnecks of Corona for $13...You can also add Lemon to it at the end and make it even better than Corona for another $1 per carton!

Seriously this is so everyone can buy MORE pit bikes  brewing your own is so easy and SO much cheaper than buying beer at a shop....

I really dont want to "sign up" after that last comment... Friends don't let friends drink Corona, **** i'd offer mates a shandy before that rubbish, and you do know the reason that Corona is yellow? Think about how much water they have in Mexico? I can assure you it's not much :p P.S i am now currently trying to manufacture a crazy (probably terrible tasting) alcoholic beer, which in all honesty will only b good for shoting or mixed in a shandy :p My mega crazy exploding beers (well a few off) have been transported to a container in the freezer. Once the freezing is completed i should then be able to remove what water content it has and then be left with a sickly, thick, highly alcoholic malt substance. Should be interesting :)

Hang on a second there hero....did I ever say Corona was good? I said it was $13 a carton....Not sure how much it would cost you to 'import' Mexican water to Australia, but pretty sure if you pooped and peed in a bucket, filtered it and then boiled it up and used the Corona mix made by coops you'd have something that STILL tasted better than corona!!!

Yeah make sure you dont oxidize your beer!!! Tranfers are hard....I'd pretty much leave them there unless you're all exploding now? Just get them in a the coolest spot you can and let them do their thing! Assuming totally that Belgium yeast is a Lager yeast....if its above 15 degrees wont matter what you do they'll exlopde ;)

I WIN CRAIG!!!! START the thread mate!!! Thanks Timmeh, I got you a good video!!! 3:04....I knew it was possible to faceplant off a pit bike...here is the proof!!!

Oi nothing wrong with Corona's you turds!
I won't take any beer advice from the state that makes VB either! ;)
Whilst not my first choice of beer it's certainly not my last,
Here on the coast we have a company called Brew 4 U and it's basically a warehouse that you can go and make up your own carton of any type of beer! Yes that even means VB, not that you'd want it.
$15 dollars a carton or $22 if you don't have any bottles.

VB isnt that bad....MB is actually one of my favourite lagers! Way more taste than the german/belgium lagers. SA's company is Coopers so their HB stuff is pretty cheap. I dont mind Corona either, its just that the shops here sell it as premium beer and $50 per carton just makes it ****....if you get what I mean!

Victoria had some really good beers, it was the hops capital of Australia for a while there. Until GUB and Carlton/Fosters took everything over started mass producing rubbish and selling it for WAY to much!!

Need to get my IPA bottled....but have 30 bottles to clean...sigh I need a keg system badly...it can wait another couple of days bloody bottle washing!!!

RIGHT....down to the real business. Just bottled my IPA...so first impressions, colour is GOOD!! Smells super fruity(but thats just the co2) Has cleared out REALLY well, its been in the fermenter for about 15 days to let it clear out properly(this is a good tip if you always get cloudy beers). Flavor profile is malty, and very english Newcastle kind of style. Little bit of a hoppy aromas and flavours, but I didnt go to hard on the hops this run! Should clear up really well in the next couple of weeks!

This shows the colour straight from the fermenter

This is the cloudy beer at the bottom and the trub(yeast and hops) Normally I'd bottle it right down to basically the yeast but I cant be bothered washing more bottles and I have a nice clear bright beer instead of cloudy stuff  finishing hops bag is what you see floating there(probably the easiest way to get into hopping)

two full decks now we play the waiting game!!!

What are we now 4days of secondary fermentation....looks good, tastes a little like banana atm....Amarillo and citra hops just thrown in at the end!!!uploadfromtaptalk1398166942741.jpg

Problem solved timmeh. I used to run 4 fermenters on 1 heat pad wrapped in a couple of blankets keeps it perfectly at around 18 degrees. Either that or try making some Lagers as Lager yeast will mess up above 16 degrees and will ferment at fridge temp of 5 degrees  When I was up at Bridgewater it was average temp of around 12 degrees through winter. At night it used to get down to about 2-3 degrees in the laundry, but one of those heat mats and your sorted!

Thats the trick, i shall order one now. Little one has just moved into eating solids which in turn means i need to boil some fruit :) So heres hoping i might just be doing a fruit beer as my next one.

So i just did a little reading on those heat pads (as i've heard mixed reactions) and it seems to be the case they work well if you have yourself a ferment firdge/cupboard, which i don't but then i noticed a pic of this, I'll give it a shot and we'll see what happens.
